Dying carpet,what's best?

The carpet in my gsi is pretty mint but is cream,want it dark grey as I'm changing all the interior plastics but don't want to source another carpet seeing as this one is fine,anyone done it and had it done for sometime to see how different stuff compares over time and after a few carpet washes etc
