East Anglia; Sunday 14 October Cambridge

Post by Ben_L »

Evening guys,

I am thinking of 14 October @ The Tivoli, Chesterton Road, Cambridge. The Tivoli is a Wetherspoons Pub with two bars, one upstairs and one down. The upstairs bar has some really pleasant views over the River Cam and the food on Sunday is a good price (£6 for a Roast and £7.50 for a large, both with a free pint!).

The idea in my head is to proceed on from lunch there up the A10 to the Sutton "Strip", made famous by Mr. Humbucker himself and 5 of us getting lost (irrespective of me actually knowing where it was, but thinking Marcus knew something I didn't!!!!).

Parking on Chesterton Road is free. The Tivoli is Child Friendly and there is free parking on Chesterton Road on Sundays (So I am reading on the internet - If not, please correct me!).

Those who were at the last get together at Waterbeach will remember the good gathering. Lets try and beat it!!!

Ben.

Sorry, an elementary discrepancy!!!

1200 Midday. This ensures we all get parked, can have dinner, a bitter shandy, smoke, chat etc and then get up to Sutton (About 10-11 miles away) for about 1330-1400ish.

A Large Beef, 1/2 Chicken or Pork Roast with Beer/Coke/Lemonade and Desert for £9.75 I think.

Just to clear stuff up :)

Hahaha providing we don't take you up on any offer whatsoever when it comes to places to drive to or park then it should be good. "Oh yeah we've got permission to be here" closely followed by "Now, it's down here somewhere..." hahaha!

I'll check my diary as I think this clashes with the Pistonheads meet I'm attending but I'll have a look and see. Provisionally down for it but depends on other commitments.

Yes Mr. Humbucker... I remember this.

Haha... I didn't realise that the company I work for don't actually run the whole site. They run one UNIT!!!! Hey ho, it was a good day all in all, apart from the frequency of three point turns!!!

No problem with that... Obviously, some "Corsa Free" pictures would be a bonus :D

PM's sent to all previous attendees and interested parties of the last meeting.

Just for everybody interested in coming, this Wetherspoons is about 10 minutes off of the M11 (Northbound), 10 minutes from the Milton A14 junction and on the outskirts of the city centre.

The address is 16 Chesterton Road Cambridge CB4 3AX.

There is parking on the road outside which I believe is free on Sunday, however, it may be worth bringing 'thirty bob' in change just in case! (I haven't had change to drive past it and take a gander at the signage!)

I'll be here on the 14th. I hope everyone else will be too!

If anybody wants a convoy etc (Not really going to be effective, or to meet at an M11/A14 Junction, I'd be happy to do that if you've got no sat nav!

Right, after a "Drive-by check", parking is FREE on Sundays along the road where The Tivoli is, however, it is a bit busy and we'll probably have to park apart. Of course, a photo oppurtinity is available 10 miles up the road at Sutton if anybody wants to go up there and have a laugh. Otherwise, I'll see you all Sunday!

Bring your coats as I expect it's going to be freezing!
