Keeping up appearances was a BBC 'comedy', rather tame and soft, it went for stereotyping the difference between classes. Family ties bundling in upper-class pretentions versus people who smoke in bed. You missed nothing really Andrei.
'Onslow' was a slob character with a stained white string vest, random facial hair, a beer belly and low brow education. Always had a fag in his mouth.
