North East Mk3 Members

Post by Telegram Sam »

I was going to suggest that those very few of us who live in the North East (best region south of the Border) somehow make ourselves known to each other, for starters, and if that leads on to local meets so much the better. But I see that something similar was floated by Envoy back in July - which I managed to miss. No harm in casting the net again and seeing who gets caught. I don't see that the website mechanics allow you to search for members by Location so may be it's a hitty missy matter of folk just answering this thread and keeping a record. Must be a fair amount of (local) knowledge to be shared around.

Dead right. I didn't know you lot existed until a few hours ago. Hope to put faces to names soon (saves using my rear view mirror :p ). I've got a note of 8 North-Easterners so far, excluding Kirsty who's deserted us but including self. Watch this space.

No both are off the road, if you have time tomorrow (tues 23rd).
Pop down to my unit in Borough Road industrial estate.
I'll PM you my mobile number.

I'll be at my unit from 1pm onwards, Gary (Envoy CDX) will be there later on.
Always a handy place to do work on the cavs, plenty of room to work too.

I'm off every other weekend which is normally down the unit.
As for Gary i can't say anything for him.
He gets down when he can, but the distance traveling back and forth is a hinderance.

Might be able to arrange some Sunday pm if/when convenient when you're off. "Work" and/or "social"!

There are now 10 North Easterners (minus one drop out) on my list so I hope we can get the powers-that-be to organize a get-together somewhere suitable early in 2013 .. between the A1 and A19 perhaps (which really pins it down)

That makes 11 - 1 = 10. Someone is going to have to sit up and take notice of us soon!

I reckon the geographical mid-point between Whitley Bay and Scarborough must be somewhere around South Co Durham / Darlington. I was passing that way today and called in at the Hall Garth Hotel and Country Club http://www.hallgarthdarlington.co.uk which is only a minute or two's drive away from A1 Junction 59 with the A167 to Darlington / Newton Aycliffe road. They could accommodate an informal group of [10] Mk3 Cavaliers without much problem for tea, booze or eats, or whatever. The suggestion is that those of us who are interested in putting names to faces might like to meet up there say some Sunday lunchtime / afternoon in the next few weeks? Those reading this please say 1. if the idea appeals - or 2. if there is a better suggestion - and if so 3. what Sundays would NOT be convenient, and I will analyse the results. I will try to PM anyone who does not reply to this so please pass on the invite to anyone you know to save the paperwork.

Anyone else on copy in this thread please pitch in with your own ideas and preferences and perhaps we can make some plans.
