Yeah bring it along, I'm curious to see if it will pick up anything on my LS. ;)

Ah, I tell you what, I can bring a 2.0 one down and I'll do you a swap if it works? In fact, if you pull the comp out and let me know the p/n printed on the sticker/on the side I can tell you if it's a v6 one or not, or even a straight six one.

Place is Baldock services on the A1, time tbc. What sorta time do people wanna meet up, I was reluctant to dictate that because I didn't know the sorta distances people are travelling and what that equates to in terms of reasonable start times, but open to suggestion. Late morning suit? 11? You tell me. The museum opens at 10 and they know to expect us that day. It'll take me the best part of two hours so I can make 11 no problem, not too early, not too late etc?

Meeting point:

Baldock Services
Motorway: A1(M)
Where: at J10 and from A507
County: Hertfordshire
Postcode: SG7 5TR

Services include multiple eating places, coffee shops, toilets, petrol etc (KFC, Le Petit Four, McDonalds, Starbucks, M&S Simply Food, WH Smith (with Costa Express) etc.) so ideal for anyone wanting a quick pitstop before we head off for the museum.

Following our trip around the museum I was going to suggest we head to a wonderful old pub a few miles down the road, The Black Horse in Ireland is open til 6pm and serve food and drinks, so a nice post-museum stop off point:

Sounds good, theres a couple of numbers on it, (GM 90 462 653), (5WK7 433), (8888-1697) Im thinking its a V6 one, its not greatly accurate on my 2.0, but it all works.

Whoo hoo! Should be a good one, I'm really looking forward to it. Can I ask that those planning to attend PM me their mobile numbers (and I'll do likewise) so that we don't leave without anyone through unforseen motorway traffic etc?

I should have mentioned this sooner but...

I have a spare 5ltr unopened pot of GM 10w40 semi. If anyone wants this I'm looking for £12 and will bring it with me on the day ;)

I will be bringing my Tech 1 with me, so a tenner a pop to whoever wants it plugging into their motor. If you think you might have a problem/fault code then we can check all the systems early in the afternoon, clear them and then check it again later to see if a problem/code has reappeared and try and diagnose it from there.

If you want full actuator tests and comprehensive readouts/programming then call it £20 as it can be quite time consuming and is obviously more involved than basic fault finding. Let me know if you're interested in either.

Gah! Was hoping to spend tomorrow cleaning the car in advance of Sunday, but the weather report is shocking in this neck o' th' woods. I think we're due a 20 min break in rain 'at some point'. FFS...!

On the plus side, Sunday is supposed to be glorious! 8-)

The day before the meet and surprise surprise, it's raining. :(

That makes 3 out of 4 times this has happened this year.

Considering what a good summer we've had it seems a tad unfair.

Apparently it's gonna be a scorcher tomorrow. We've had the most intense thunderstorm all night long, subsided now but still light rain. I'm gonna go wash the car anyway I think, before it kicks in again later this afternoon.

So, a final roll call... any latecomers to the party?! 8-) Just to clarify, meeting point is Baldock Services, J10 of the A1, postcode SG7 5TR at 11am:

Looks like we'll just be taking the CD auto tomorrow.

Give the LS a bit of a rest.
