VBOA National Rally, Billing Aquadrome, 13th/14th July 2013

Post by humbucker »

The Big One! After the disappointment of 2012 with the weather forcing the meeting to be abandoned, VBOA National Rally (Vauxhall Bedford Opel Association) aka "Billing" is back and ready to rock with the biggest gathering of Vauxhalls, Bedfords and Opels in the world. Over 30 clubs and 2000 vehicles make the annual pilgrimage to Billing. Featuring the biggest and best autojumble its an unmissable event if you own or just love all things Vauxhall, Bedford and Opel. The VBOA National Rally is the big one for all owners of Vauxhalls, Bedford’s and Opel’s. Now in its 31st year at Billing Aquadrome, it gets better & bigger every time but the basic formula of a chill weekend in the company of your own club members and those of over 30 other clubs catering for all models of Vauxhall plus Opel’s and Bedford’s has not changed. Featuring the best Vauxhall autojumble in the World, with over 2000 cars, vans and trucks that form an unforgettable display in the impressive surroundings of Billing Aquadrome. On the Sunday we have club displays in the parade ring and the Chairman's Cup competition for the best car in Show. Miss it at your peril!

Date: Saturday 13 July 2013 - Sunday 14 July 2013
Location: Billing Aquadrome, Northants - Whole Park

Admission Charges: Public admission to the park is subject to daily admission fees: Day entry £10 per car, per day

How to find us
The easiest route to find us at Billing Aquadrome is from the M1 Motorway.

From the South
Exit the M1 motorway at Junction 15. Follow the signposts from there, or take the A508 and join the A45 ringroad after 2 miles. Then follow the signs to Billing Aquadrome for about 4 miles.

From the North
Either exit the M1 at Junction 15 as per the directions from the South or exit the M1 Motorway at Junction 16. Take the A45 to Northampton. Follow the signs to Billing Aquadrome for about 7 miles.

Contact Billing Aquadrome for further info or to book lodgings: 01604 408181
Contact for general event information: John Ankerman 07947 536221 / john.vauxhall-cars@tesco.net

Please note that the park has a 10mph speed limit and is a holiday location at the same time that the event is taking place. It is a 'show and shine' event, so if you're looking for tyre burning get yourself over to the Performance Vauxhall Show at Santa Pod in June instead! : viewtopic.php?f=19&t=11531

Me & the wifey have vowed to come down this year.
We set off last year to attend, until Envoy sent me the devastating news about the flooding.

My plan is to attend on the Sunday - hoping to meet people from here, Vectra-C.com and Opcomusers.

Very rare that I get to meet the southern folk.

IMHO Sunday is the best day to go anyway. There are a lot of glory hunters who turn up with their cars on the Sunday in order to enter their motors into the Chairman's Cup competition, meaning a lot more to look at, although it is a lot busier as a result and parking can be a bit troublesome if you're not on any club stand. I really was hoping to go for the full weekend but Elvis Costello is playing the Saturday night in my neck of the woods and I think I'm gonna kick myself if I don't find a way to do both events! :?

Not 100% sure yet but think I might be there Saturday and Sunday! Saturday with my friend in his Astra MK3 as he displaying it on the MK3 Astra stand.
Then possibly Sunday in my Cav with my dad and brother as they are chipping in funds so we can all go. Mine will have For Sale Signs in though. :(

None of my Cavs are ready for any shows but hell, I'll be there on Sunday in the LS.

Does anyone want to meet up before hand and convoy in?
