Eastern Region meet Sunday 6th Oct North Norfolk coastal run

Post by humbucker »

THIS POST NOW EDITED WITH MEET DETAILS. SENT OUT TO EASTERN REGION MEMBERS VIA PM BUT ALL CAVALIERS AND THEIR OWNERS ARE WELCOME!

Eastern Region meet Sunday 6th Oct North Norfolk coastal run

Hiya, just a quick note to remind you that this Sunday plays host to the Eastern Region North Norfolk Coastal Run!

Meet: Sunday 6th October, 10.30am, Snettisham Beach, Norfolk, PE31 7PS

The aim is to meet at 10.30am at Snettisham Beach (nearest Sat Nav location is PE31 7PS). Once we are all present and correct we will move on to Hunstanton for an ice cream and a cuppa, then travel further along the coast road in convoy taking in the views and enjoying the drive to Wells-Next-The-Sea where a hearty dose of fish and chips awaits. From there we will drive further along the coast road towards the Muckleburgh Collection (the UK's largest privately held military museum) with a possible tea stop at the National Trust's Gramborough Hill site (a shingle beach and nature reserve featuring a very enthusiastic tea and coffee salesman!). The roads are great and the scenery will be brilliant for photos and Cavalier camaraderie!

Club discount on museum entry will be applicable once numbers are confirmed on the meet thread (link below). Usual prices are £8 for adults, £6 for kids (under 5's are free):
The Muckleburgh Collection website: http://www.muckleburgh.co.uk/

Please add your details to this thread and register your attendance so that we know how many are coming to what should be a great day out!

DIRECTIONS
From Kings Lynn (A47). Take the A419 northbound towards Hunstanton and Heacham. Snettisham beach is signposted LEFT *before* you reach the Norfolk Lavender Company. Follow the signposted road about a mile until you reach the beach car park (big sandy area).

Members will be travelling far and wide, so a convoy at places along the way (Huntingdon etc) if members want to meet up en-route might be a good idea? I'll leave that to be thrashed out on the event thread, providing we are all at Snettisham at 1030 :)

Once again, please register your attendance/interest and we look forward to seeing you on Sunday!

All Cavaliers and their owners are welcome!

Sounds like a great idea, count me in.

Like I said, I'll probably be in the Diplomat.

Just as well really as I probably wouldn't be able to keep up with you lot if I were in the LS, considering how quickly you left us behind on the way to the museum on Sunday!

Haha, sorry about that, I thought you had joined the convoy! Of course, although I've suggested 5th or 6th October, if your mother has another holiday planned and fancies landing at Norwich airport just let us know the dates and we'll shift the event accordingly

That's ok, we were with you for about 30 seconds until a ruddy great lorry got in our way on a roundabout and then lost sight of you and had to stop to programme the museum into the satnav.

No one else will have a clue what that means

Again, pending how things go with my V6 on the MOT, I'll let you know. Bit of a drive for me, but if you're planning on bringing it further inland as you say, I'll keep an eye on it! Maybe for now though.

The draw of the military museum has got Andrei written all over it! I think the chances of it moving inland are silm if feedback thus far is anything to go by, but we'll see. It would be great if you could make it, although I appreciate the distance might make it prohibitive. Let us know nearer the time :)

Much as I love driving my cav, a 2 hour drive to a 1.5 hour drive, and a 2 hour drive back - that would be a bit much for me :\

Just a quick reminder that this event is taking place - I will email members / Cavalier owners that I know shortly with a notification that points to this thread, but if you know of anyone with a Cavalier that might like to tag along then get their attendance registered on this thread as once I know numbers I can negotiate a discounted entry at the museum.

I was thinking that we might be better off meeting at Snettisham Beach rather than Hunstanton as there is ample parking next to the beach thanks to a huge clearing that is used as parking (free at weekends). Then we could head to Sunny Hunny for an ice cream and some fish unt chips etc! There is a place I know directly between Hunstanton and the museum that we can get a brew too, dunno, we can work it out nearer the time but Snettisham might be our best bet in the first instance. There's not a great deal there but perfect meeting point nonetheless.

I'm a possible, Humbucker.

Just found out I've still got a months MOT left on the V6. (previous owner said it ran out this month)

It's a week after next payday so chances are I should make it, but I'll confirm nearer the time.

Snettisham would be ok for me, looks like it'll be M27, M3, and a fly past of Cambridge ;) 220 miles one way for me :thumb Possibility of meeting some of you en-route. Anyway I'll see how things go with finance and the V6, and will confirm if I'm definitely coming.
