Euro Rally/Mk3 Cavalier Owners Club road trip 23-30 Jul 2016

As many of you already know, I have just returned from a 'seven countries in seven days' European road trip in the company of a wide range of classic and modern vehicles. It was brilliant fun, and I thoroughly enjoyed my time driving through Paris, taking on the Route Napoleon from Lyon to Nice, spending time in Monaco, driving up through Italy to Lake Como, navigating my way around the mountain passes of Switzerland, the rolling hills of Austria, the car museums of Stuttgart, a li'l ol' place called the Nurburgring etc.
I've just finished writing the first part of my road report for Retro Cars magazine, and I included details of next year's trip in the text. Some of you have expressed an interest in joining me on the 2016 Euro Rally, so I thought I should post the details:
Bookings are now being taken for the 2016 Euro Rally. Due to take place between the 23rd and 30th of July next year, the tour costs just £649 per person (with a difficult-to-ignore £150 discount available for returning punters). Each secured place includes ferry crossings, all accommodation, breakfasts and a final night party with unlimited beer and BBQ! An extra stopover is being included in the price for 2016, making next year’s event an eight day, seven night tour that lands at the ‘Ring during its annual F1 celebrations. All makes, models and ages of car are welcome. Further information and booking forms can be accessed by visiting http://www.eurorally.net.
The stopovers are:
Dover (optional) > Paris > Lyon > Nice > Lecco (Lake Como) > Innsbruck > Stuttgart > Nurburgring
Which means that the suggested destinations are:
Dover > Calais > Paris > Reims > Lyon > Route Napoleon > Nice > Monaco > Turin/Milan > Lecco > San Bernadino Pass > Stelvio Pass > Fluela Pass > Innsbruck > Stuttgart (Porsche, Mercedes museums) > Nurburgring > Spa > Calais > Dover
Discounts are available for group bookings e.g. owners clubs(!). This really does represent great value, and the prospect of a Cavalier contingent taking part in next year's trip is very exciting indeed. We already have two Cavalier Turbo 4x4s confirmed for 2016, and I am hoping that a few of you might be up for coming along in your cars.
Deposits of just £200 can be paid in advance in order to guarantee a place on the tour (click here: http://eurorally.net/product/rally-deposit/). I have already confirmed my attendance.
And in case you were wondering about fuel costs, I used four tanks of fuel (50L tank) during my week away.
Up for it?!
