Hello all.
It was a great weekend this year at the Billing Aquadrome. Great turnout and truly stunning weather to boot.
I didn't take as many photos this year and the ones I did take were very late in the day after a good chunk of the cars had already left. Sorry about that.
Anyway here they are. Feel free to join in and share your photos too.
Unfortunately I was unable to bring the LS for the first time in 3 years due to not being able to arrange an MOT retest in time. So we took the CD manual instead along with the V6.
On the way we were overtaken, followed, overtook and then followed by this lovely looking K reg Diplomat hatch which we later found again at the show:
Rare sight to see 3 Cavs in convoy on the M25 these days:
Despite some decisively gloomily looking cloud when we set off, we arrived in glorious sunshine and amazingly it remained that way all day.
So after driving both Cavs straight through the parade and listening to the traditional dodgy commentary from the VBOA chairman, we set up shop at the Cavalier and Chevette club stand:
At the stand we were greeted by the identical twin to our own CD auto,
Same colour, same shape, same model, same registration, same transmission, similar condition and even a similar mileage! Only difference I could see is this has the anthracite interior mine mine has the grey:
Here are some of the other cars at their stand
Stunning redtop SRi:
GSi:
Pre-facelift L with CD alloys, SRi stripes and painted bumpers:
Pre-facelift L
Lovely MK2s
And the traditional heart of the club, the MK1s
Here's an overview of the stand by the end of the day:
Here are some of the other MK3 Cavs that turned up for the event:
Got that right!
These are some of my favourites from around the whole event:
Pickup conversion MK2:
Mk2 calibre:
Gate crasher MG maestro:
AutobahnStormers stand:
What this is I have no idea, all I know is that it looks awesome!
Another gate crasher, this time from further afield:
Our two basking in the sun:
That's that!
Pick up a few goodies in the trade stands, despite a poor turnout of tradesmen:
This heavy piece of ironmongery is a genuine back box for the V6 bought for just £25:
Also found these for just one pound each!
All labelled as off-side rear, but apart from two pre-facelift OSR pars, they are all different:
One of them happens to a facelift OSF part, just what I need to fix this issue!
That's the spirit of Billing!
Hope you enjoyed.

Thanks for sharing the photos - nice to see some literature and brochures on display! Looks like it was a lovely day with some well loved machinery. Good job on the door strips.

Great day out, haven't been for a few years but still looks as good as ever.
