VBOA Parts Day - Sunday 30th October

Post by James McGrath »

I'll be going to the VBOA spares day this year and thought we could make an event of it.

It's taking place on Sunday 30th October at the Connexion Leisure Centre in Coventry. Full address below.

After the relatively poor turnout of trade stands at Billing this year I'd imagine that there will be plenty of traders turning up for this one.

I'll be there bright and early so shall we say, meet in the car park at around 10, have the usual catch up and photos and then go and see if we can find some bargains!

Count me in! I didn't realise there was a second autojumble on the VBOA annual calendar. I look forward to seeing the same 'Pleasuriser' dampers that have been offered for sale every other time I've been to the VBOA parts day. It's like saying hi to an old friend.

It's like saying hi to an old friend.

That looks wrong on so many levels...

Sounds like an iteresting trip out, but highly unlikely that I could get there before late lunch-time.

I will pencil this in my diary.
But I do love new toys and the wife always blinds me with so-called bargains.
(Not making any promises of my Cavalier being ready by then...)

So is half the crap the wife buys under the banner of being an essential bargain.

It would be nice to meet more of the gang.
I do keep threatening every year, and then cry off with some pathetic excuse.

More chance of success as it is a Sunday, so not a wifey shopping day... and it doesn't clash with the NEC Bike show nor my Holland trip... (both at the end of November.)

I haven't ever managed to get to any VBOA events previously,

but I do plan to visit the parts day.
Hopefully find some useful bargains for the Cav.

I will only have limited load space though due to having to carry the wife's non-folding powered wheelchair.
So no big bargains - ha ha.

I'll be there.. Coming up with Pete, who is loading a bootfull of his spares.

Dunno which car we're coming in, could be Dippy, the Ovlov, or Petes Ampera..

I cannot make it but can someone look out for the fuel gauge assembly that fits into the fuel tank for a C20NE - 90443382 is the number, I believe. Thanks.

I assume you mean float sender, rather than gauge...

It should be the same for any fuel tank except diesel and GSi.

On petrol injections, it should only be pump type or location that changes. Not the sender unit.

But yes - assuming that nothing stops me going, I wil take a look for you.

Genuine Part Search are listing one at £70, although you probably already know that.

Yarp - it was just in case anyone saw/had one cheaper than that. My fuel tank swapping antics may not have gone to plan...

Yes, my terminology is a bit off - float sender unit - I'm after the whole thing, it goes in the back of the fuel tank with a twisting motion, has a gasket and had a plug on it with a float for the inside - wish I'd taken a photo of it now!

Here a pic I found online:
