New member new GSI
Hi all, I'm Ricky from west London. I back in the days had a G reg silver GSI for 4 years until the wife wrote it off. Few years after had a grey J reg and I saw it about 6 months ago in the Berkshire area I sold her about 6 years ago. I was so upset I just had to get one. This one popped up so I just had to. I've not done nothing to her yet just driving her. She has a few bits to sort out but nothing major. I was told she has Kent cams and new tappets. None make noise when cold. Some pictures when I picked her up. Not sure if this car is known to the club.
That's all I've got at the moment but I will post some more with work in progress over the weekend

Hello and welcome, that's one good looking Cav.
Re: New member new GSI
Hi Guys, To b honest I was shocked at the condition when I went to see her. I was expecting silly mods and rust. But she really is vey good. She has had a full respray and new boot lid new arches, the only mods which are just right are magnex exhaust system and slightly lowered springs. I was totally gob smacked at her. I will post up good photos once I've given her a Good scrubbing over this weekend.

Discs and pads
Nsr sensor
Oxy sensor
Clifford alarm total closure
Mudflaps if I can get some
Volt and oil gauges

And last clean idle control valve.
Need to find out how to adjust the idle needs turning down

Re: New member new GSI
Wish mine was that clean & tidy or even on the road, what did you pay if you don't mind me asking ? & is that a Magnex exhaust on it ?
Re: New member new GSI
That looks mint. In great condition
Re: New member new GSI
holy crap that looks so good
Re: New member new GSI
one of the best if not the best one on here for sure
Re: New member new GSI
Thanks for all the comments makes it all worth while. The exhaust is a Magnex full system. The car was around the 2,000 mark with 102,000 on the clock all documented with full service history. All mot's for mileage verification. The car was rebuilt a while back and then was stored in a garage and not pulled out for 6 years. Looking at everyones comments im now wondering should she really be used as a daily drive through the winter. But then i purchased this car as i want to drive it and if i just store it then it wasnt worth buying it. I have this trend of buying cars and making them nice, so nice i put them away lol. But then she has been stored away for years so why not use her. If she does get a bit rusty then we can tackle this in the spring before summer.
