Nice clean gsi. :thumb you might want to check the front sunroof drains aren't blocked. I had a similar leak on my gsi. There's probably a how to on this site somewhere.

Yep, all Cavaliers that were fitted with a sunroof have front and rear drains.

Never poked about in the back of a saloon but on the hatchbacks they are right in the corners of the boot, you'll have to pull back the inner cards, the hoses should feed through to the boot floor and out the bottom.

I've made this rough guide last year, see if this helps: This is how to check if your drains flow clear.

Sorry if you've already checked, but have you checked for any rust holes underneath?

Hmm.. When I first bought my manual Cavalier, the passenger carpet was damp, I pulled it up and it was really damp underneath. The previous owner said he left the sunroof tilted open for donkey's years because it kept getting steamed up inside. I'm guessing the damp made it's way down in no time and settled. After endless hours of running the heater to the feet setting and airing the car out, it's not damp any more, I'm wondering if your car had a similar story..

Only other thing I could suggest right now is the heater matrix but that would leave a smell resembling old socks when it leaks. If it doesn't smell of anything, then I'm stumped.

Then it must be coming in from underneath, through the sill somehow. Won't hurt to remove the wheel arch liner I guess, poke about behind it.

Ye that was one thing we discussed at our last Southern Meet, between me, Dave and James, some early Cavaliers had a little heating system, to prevent icing up, but apparently it caused blockages..
