My Cavalier turbo WIP

Post by da_master316 »

hey all il start this thread for all the work me my mates and body shops etc do!!

my 5th cavalier and 2nd 4x4 turbo but this one will stay with me now..no more selling cavs hehe...

Heres a few pics

Anyway so first things first, there was a nasty bit of rust on the o/s/r door corner so treated that yesterday with rust remedy... (amazing stuff,it turns the rust hard and very strong and also stops anymore corrosion)

Here is the pic after i treated it and a pic after ive painted it and lacquered it! now i had no filler so so you can still see the bumps where the rust was, but its tided it up for now and also stopped it from getting any worse!

Then i treated the boot lip corners as they were getting bad...

Also sprayed the tow eye cover as its come off a blue cavalier and you could see a bits of blue through the white so rubbed it down and gave it a couple of coats of glacier white and a coat of lacquer..

Image

then rubbed down and treated areas in the boot floor...

Image

Image

boot carpet was minging so gave that a good scrub

so iam in the middle of rebuilding the turbo this weekend as the seals have gone and its smoking like a gooden :D more pictures to follow.....

got the turbo off and it needs more than just bearings and oil seals :(

looks like something has either gone through the turbo and mashed the Finns on the turbine or its not been balanced properly..
ah well il send it off to get a rebuild! owning a cav turbo again reminds me of my cossie days hehe fixed or repaired daily
