Well had last week off work as did a load of mates, one of which owns a garage so we thought we'd take full advantage of the empty ramps!!!

Well it runs!!

First Start
Image

Very tappy but oil hadn't worked its way into all the lifters at this point, and power steering fluid was low so pump was noisy, but later on as the fluids traveled around it got back to as it should be!!

still a fair amount to do before its road worthy (like map it so it drives!!!) but big hurdle over!!

started on the bumper, not quite straight yet, my fault i guess for buying such a large intercooler!! might drop it down slightly as it pokes out the top of the bumper right under the grill, however it will then stick out below the bumper slightly,

Gave it a good clean and polish! Plus it's first oil change which had no swarf and still was reasonable golden brown! Another 500 miles running in and she will get another!
Image
Plus the tracking was sorted so she now drives straight!

Nice to see another coming back into active duty. Was it originally on the TOY plate? The dealer I worked for during the first half of that year was selling new cars with a registration run ending with TOY. I can't remember the range of numbers but it is possible I may have driven the car or possibly even done the pdi?
"No the temperature gauge doesn't work........
we've driven 150 miles today........
the heater went cold last Thursday........
they check the level when it's serviced don't they?"

Well little update!!

It's driving and running very well! Only running about 12 psi so far but feels very fast! Going on what's its as quick as and compared to the old grey cav I reckon it's ballpark figure of 300hp so looks promising as I run the turbo to 24-28 psi when fully mapped and setup!!! Depending on fuelling and the turbo that's could be 420hp+!!!

Exhaust knocks a little underneath and needs tweaking but it is 3inch all the way through! And the prop is currently off as the front bearing is fubar!! Gonna work through the niggles over the next few months and play with the power a bit later!!

I'm having the exact same issues with exhaust knocking. But these td05 turbos really do feel much better than the standard kkk. Keep the updates coming.

Awesome Cavalier! I'm going to mount a intercooler in that size myself on my Opel Vectra 4x4 Turbo :)
