Love the colour of this one...good work so far and I also wonder what is going on with it now. I want some of those smoked side repeaters too but they don't come up on an ebay search for me.

to say the project has been stagnant since last year in an understatement, severe shortage of funds and no spare time means its just been used and abused since last november, but hasnt missed a beat. MOT last month was pretty good, me and one of the lads at work rebuilt one of the rear chassis legs and spring seats in an hour, and believe me when i say it'll outlast the car now, and i havent got round to the rear arches, but they havent got much worse.

all in all, if i get a chance, time, money and weather, it'll be improved this year. if not, then i'll keep using it.

well, i'll post again, but you might not like it. it's time has come, end of the road, after 18 months of reliable motoring i've had an offer i cannot refuse with regards to another car. so the cav will be respectfully dismembered at the end of october, and as much as possible will live on in other projects. kinda gutted, but if i'm being honest, the bodywork alone wouldnt last out the winter, and it was pretty lucky to scrape the MOT this year, so it seems like a good time. so keep an eye out in the parts section, almost all of it will be up for grabs.

Can't believe what I read but if inevitable please don't forget my interest in the plastic and rubber trims / seals that go alongside and underneath the doors on each side. :(

At what point does a car / engine qualify as "vintage" (and double its value)?! One less on the road regrettably, but adds to the scarcity value of them what are left

Vintage is for cars between 1919 and 1930 Apparently. For the cav it would probably be designated classic in 5 years see link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Classic_car

I think we should put an entry in Wikipedia for clintage cars = Mk 3 Cavs. If we wait for true vintage there'll be none left! If I see one approaching me on the road I go bananas. Sorry off topic, end of conversation.

It's still in one piece, still on daily use, but it knows ( developed a knock out of nowhere, I think it's an arb link)

I've been offered a spot in a unit to store it last night, by a vauxhall hating vw loving friend who really wants me to keep it. Just weighing up the options of if I can make it work financially. IF I can get it off the road and do a proper in depth strip and refresh on it, I may be tempted to keep the old junker.

I'm going to give it a proper go myself, start from the front and work back, and even chance a go at bodywork. I may not like the car, but I don't hate it enough to see it gone. First job is strip the bumper and front wings off, and assess the front end
