I got bored last night. So went down to the unit for a few hours. I got so into stripping the engine I didn't realise it was 11pm.
Ready for the head to come off and go to the engine shop.

Cams and caps look in good shape. Not had chance to check turbo or get the sump off.
Monday the head will come off ready to go to the engine builders to have it pressure tested cleaned and new oil stem seals fitted.

Also be pulling the sump off to replace big end bearings and piston rings and fit ARP rod bolts.
Will be dropping the subframe and inlet off at the powder coaters next week.

Ordering the sachs uprated clutch, Poly bushes for the front end and engine rebuild parts. Will also need a new alternator as the one on the engine is seized solid.

Engine completely stripped down now.
The head, Sump and pick up pipe are all at the engine builders to be cleaned, head will have a light skim, Pressure test and new oil stem seals fitted.

I'm waiting on my piston rings, Big end bearing and main bearings to be delivered so I can rebuild the bottom end. The crank looks in good shape.

Don't you just love a pile of new bits?!! How's the waterpump, it looked a bit rusty in the pics? Great progress BTW.

Did Chicago power coaters do all that. I'll surprised if the hoses fit the back, there used to be a problem with irs and trailing arm packs

I have toyed with the idea of power coating alot of bits, is it particularly expensive or just as cheap as painting everything?

Tbh the place me and the 2 Dans used was real cheap.
All the bits coated in my pictures cost me £75 which included the prep work.
