It looks shite with tigra lights IMO

How about early (say about G/F reg) 3 or 5 series BMW quad headlights (round singular ones)

This was something i wanted to do but never done it :(

i see where you are coming from but if i stayed with all bit off a cavalier it would not be a one off thats why i am doing a head light transplant on the cav and got rid of the rear lights and putting aftermarket rear lights in the bumper

this is a mate of mines, now the back lights being smoothed did look good but the ones he put in its place didnt,
Youve gotta work with stuff that works with the lines of the car, you need bigger lights to suit, wanting a one off is good, but doing something just because it hasn't been done isnt

Look at the lines of the car youve gotta match the look your going for, because euro is subtle not big kits, You need to actually drop the car as low as possible rather than skirts to attempt to give the impression, as a mate of mine says "if its not rubbin, its not dubbin" (wv lads, lol)

I think you should put some other lights into the original spot rather than into the bumper, lose the skirt or take the numberplate out of it, if you have to cut the boot about do it, dont cut corners youve gone too far now to wuss out. Theres too much empty space on the back end you need something to break it up.

And tigra lights are too small.

Hello
I firstly have to say i have just read all of this thread and i love the car and work you have done so far,

in my opionion calibra lights will look good as it gives it a sleek low look which will fit your car, see pics :D

This ones using the cav gsi bumper with part of the calibra bumper grafted on (i prefer this one)
Image
and this one with calibra lights and bumper
Image

'as far as i know' it hasnt been done in the uk yet (i have only seen it done in germany and poland at the tuningwiessco (spelling)) and i sortof hate my self for letting you know as i have this planned for my cav in the future ;) as i beleave it wont be difficult to fit em. (peice of pish for you im sure) (please note i did 45mins surfing just to find these pics again as im not at home near my ext HDD! because i like your car that much!)

the only thing i would change IMO (prob a bit late now) is to sink the vent on the front bumper in (either all flush or flush at the front and stepped at the back) and insted of fitting the rear lights into the bumper you could fit them on the inside top of the rear windows (i also have pics of this at home!) so it'll keep the rear clean and smooth!

but i agree that tigra lights look worng

but keep up the good work and dont let the cold hold you back (i rebuilt my engine on new years day last year on my car park next to the sea so it was bloody cold/windy/icy/and did i say cold LOL)

keep us all posted and one day i let you do a cavibra front end mod on mine! (only a joke but if you want to :D  :cheers )

Well no worries
it sort of makes me happy that 'hopefully' there wont be millions of 'cavibras' around by the time i get round to doing mine!
i know i could just buy a calibra but with a kid 4 doors are very handy!
but differnt tastes for different ppl i spose. (in a good way!)
like ya wurk, keep going!

what fun and games i have had today lol

i orderd a small tin of primer so i can spray the rest of the cav, i order grey primer and white primer came so i rang my spray shop up and the came and replaced the tin, i told them i will need enough to do the:

bonnet
roof
front bumper
passenger side front wing
side skirts
and a few bits over the cav that needed doing again from where i rubed down

and i did not have enough, all i had enought for was:

front bumper
passenger side front wing
side skirts
and a few bits over the cav that needed diong again from where i rubed down

so i was not happy lol and plus the bonus is that i get it cheap as i did work for them aswell so i was not really bothered how much was done

so of it im not happy with as some places ran but its my first attempt at spraying lol

but at least most of the cav is now in primer YIPPIE

i had all the rest of the stuff to spray i.e hardner, thiners

anyway heres the pic's (in no order)

just been out to tha car and done a bit of meausering (spelling) up

i am going to need 6 meters of square gutting to do all the extending of the sideskirts and front bumper

it will be molded into shape around the corners of the front bumper

i just have not got a clue yet on how to do the side skirt lol

so i might be getting some square guttering soon YIPPIE

this nova has got guttering side skirts

well the hole of the side skirts are made out of it

Image

and what im going to do is

i am going to cut it from in half so i will have a lip at the top and the bottom and i will have a completly flat side on the guttering

then i am going to cut a v shape were the corners of the bumper are in the guttering

then heat the guttering up so u can bend it to shape of the bumper

then attach it to the bottom of the bumper but cutting slitts in the bumper so it will sit in

do the same process for the side skirts

and then secure it to the bumper/side skirts so it wont move

fiberglass them both together and then a skim of filler over the top
