Cavalier 1980 Auto Sports Hatch

Post by littletoe46 »

TO ALL MEMBERS. An elderly relative passed away recently and has left a Vauxhall Cavalier Sports Hatch Automatic 1980 . Since buying the car in about 1983 it has never been used ,but always garaged- in Hockley, nr Southend, Essex. Approx 20k miles. Nobody within the family wishes to keep the car, so we are looking for a good home for it. If any members are at all interested, and prepared to give a realistic valuation, we would be very keen to hear from them.Any viewing would need to be arranged well in advance, as we are dealing with the estate from 250 miles away in Wales.

You might be better off advertising on the Cavalier mk2 forum or the cavalier and chevette forum see links, that's not to say someone on here might want it, any pictures ?

Value depends on a few things as I'm sure you are aware, general condition, is it driveable, does it have a current MOT, I would say a £1000 + but that's only my guesstimate it may be worth more, it's difficult to say without seeing the car & what a Mk 1 lover would pay. I hope this helps you.

A lot will depend on the bodywork. If it's solid with only some spots of rust and dirt from storage then you'll get a lot more for it. Hard to say about actual value, it's really what someone is willing to pay for it, look for other examples that have been for sale and see what they went for. If good nick and only needs minor work to get back roadworthy you might be looking about 1 & a half grand, depending on interest. Pictures would be interesting.
