Awesome, I remember buying a set of those for my old V6, transformed it instantly to what it should look like. The best thing about those fanblades, apart from looking decent, is they are so easy to clean and wax. Unlike all those modern multi-multi-multi spoke wheels, which you basically have to sandblast to get clean. These fanblades are just a dream to clean.

Yeah - they'll transfer the look of the car hopefully..... :thumb
They were pretty much a bargin too. They've been refurb'd; not to the highest standard but you have to get up really close to see. A couple of new centre badges needed. Another job for Friday! lol

Now heres a question.... can I use the bolts that are currently holding the steelies on....????

Yep, bolts are bolts, they do the job regardless of the wheel difference. I can't remember but I think the fanblades are a 5stud pattern? Is your GLS a 4 stud or 5 on the hubs? I hope I'm not right in thinking you bought wheels that won't fit.

Oh in that case, you did well then. Sorry to get you into a panic, I thought all 15" fanblades were 5 stud pattern.

Well the car definitely is... but I'm at work atm. But every picture I can find of them on the internet, they're 4 stud. So just preying mine at home are as well. haha

They must have made them in both stud patterns then, I didn't know that.

Mine are four stud jobbies.

The 4 stud 15" rims would have been far more popular than any other size and the five stud wheels.
A lot of Diplomats and SRi's were fitted with them.

That means I was lucky to find a set for my old V6, I thought they were 5 stud in that rim size.

I think 5 studs were only used on the V6 models (cannot say for GSi or Turbos) due to the extra weight and power of the bigger enginebeing transmitted through the wheels and hubs.

I am sure James will have a better idea.

I would say you were very lucky to get 5 stud Fanblades, as there would be a lot fewer V6's produced than SRi's and Diplomats, regardless of the specific wheel pattern fitted to them.

It is Gun Metal Grey metallic powder coating with a clear coat lacquer paint to give shine and protection.
To be honest the lacquer was patchy, so I blew the wheels over with cheap and cheerful Wilko's craft rattle cans to get a nicer smoother metallic finish.

Hi guys,
done a few detailing bit over last few days but not finished yet but will update prob over weekend with how its all going.

We spoke about how 'spooky' this buying experience has been for me; well I even found the garage key ring from when I brought the Diplomat bang on 20 years in 2 months time in a draw..... long since demolished and flats now. But all adds to the memmmmories!

This isn't getting any less spooky is it? Detailing is what counts, so worth all the effort. I used to be renowned for literally getting the toothbrush out to clean bits of trim on my old Cavaliers. Scared some people.

V6's & Turbo's were the only models fitted with 5 stud hubs from the factory so only 3 styles of alloys available the turbo had 16" fanblades The V6 had 15" fanblades & the V6 Cesaro 15" 6 spoke alloy.

Haha was literally the same with the first GL at 20 y/o. Would take all sort of trim pieces out and wash them. Not so much these days but not far off.

After much faffing, cursing, scrapping of knuckles, and a few airborne tools; really please how the new wheels have transformed the look of the old girl ;)

You could have edited out that white Skoda or whatever is in the background lol.

Definitely looks nice though. If it was a sedan, it would basically be a spitting image of my old V6.
