Going again to Nottingham at the weekend so will try to roll it out and get more pictures. Think it will look a little better after a wash!

Looks like damp has got inside the garage, and it shows underneath the chassis. Unfortunately for such a low miler, the rust is setting in. However it's not a disaster, looks only surface deep to me. New exhaust, rear anti roll bar, bushes, bit of sanding and a good few coats of underseal and she'll be back in her glory in no time. And a good wash as well. :thumb

Doesn't look it from the pics.
Give her a good clean over, inside and out to make sure all the seals don't get too brittle and start peeling away. Window and door seals, as well as sunroof. Is the cam cover gasket leaking? Surprising, if it is, at that mileage.

i wouldnt be surprised if an engine thats been sat around for that long will need all the gaskets replacing as a matter of course. theyre either going to be brittle or compromised. engine will need more than a little service.

Looks OK but will need a lot of time and effort putting into it, plus a fair amount of money, new exhaust, tyres, cambelt, seals, etc but worth it in the end. Going by the pix i`d be wanting a peak at the cambelt before trying to start it and change all fuel lines too.
Having pulled an old Vauxhall viva out of a garage that it had stood in for over 30 years and seeing it at Billing this year, the time and effort is well worth it ;)

I think I'll start by getting it out the garage and having a proper look and giving it a wash. I have some good tips from the forum and then hopefully when i'm up to enough posts I can see if I can find a new home for it.

Just to update you I gave my Grandpa's Vauxhall to a family member who loves cars. He is hoping to do it up. So a happy ending all in all. Thank you for all your help and support during a difficult time forum x
