my recent buy gsi

Post by leigh l »

Here is my new car, had it for a few weeks now, very nice car, got lots of plans for it, most of it is body work, although not that much, probably refurbish original wheels and stick them on and lower it 40mm, get rid of all rust and underseal, angel eyes, front splitter.

Congratulations on the new purchase, looks to be in good order! Get a WIP thread going (or I can move this one to that section for you if you want). Look forward to updates.

Yes, I knocked him down quite a lot, I travelled 200 miles but noticed that one arch had been replaced and the other had just been filled (just bought new arch) also 2x holes under rear bumper where it meets the arch and a bit of surface rust on one wing and roof, But bought it as the engine was sweet, had only 3 owners from new, had lots of history and travelled a long way and he gave me the original wheels and some spare parts. Going to try and get bits done bit by bit.

Once I have sorted the rear arch and the 2x holes behind the rear bumper, I will take off all the plastics including bumpers, skirts, inner arch covers to see whats what. Once all the welding has been done the whole car is going in to be waxoiled

NOOOO!!!! I was very dissapointed to be honest with you, I diddnt mind spending 2k on a minter as it would have been cheaper in the long run, I wanted something that diddnt need anything doing to it, he wanted 2.2k but knocked him down to 1.5k which was still maybe too much!

Well done on standing your ground and bartering heavily in price. Wish I was better at that! Looks genuine enough for the money for sure, and combined with low owners, history and sweet engine, you're well on the way already :)
