Hopefully not, hope to have the tank off the car on Saturday, need to ring vauxhall to price up the fuel lines from a Vectra B, and weigh up the cost for a metric flaring tool.Robsey wrote:Envoy CDX wrote:Not a clue yet. have to wash the cav first.

Could you not just get some 8mm micro-bore copper pipe from B&Q,Envoy CDX wrote: Hopefully not, hope to have the tank off the car on Saturday, need to ring vauxhall to price up the fuel lines from a Vectra B, and weigh up the cost for a metric flaring tool.
20 metres is less than £30, and although flaring is preferable, it is not absolutely necessary, as long as you've got good fitting rubber fuel hose, and reasonable fuel hose clamps.
A cheap and chearful flaring tool can be bought for between £20 to £30.

Re: 93 Cav LS - Run about
Got plenty of copper pipe, bought it months ago. and a pipe bending spring, and a pipe cutter too. must have spent about £30 or so. I bought a flaring tool, to discover it's imperial was rather gutted to be fair that was £17Robsey wrote:Could you not just get some 8mm micro-bore copper pipe from B&Q,Envoy CDX wrote: Hopefully not, hope to have the tank off the car on Saturday, need to ring vauxhall to price up the fuel lines from a Vectra B, and weigh up the cost for a metric flaring tool.

Since you've asked very nicely, I'd dug out some photo's that I think are ok to post.

Yup, should be fun. I was planning to rear disc it anyhow, but this seems more apt for it.Robsey wrote:hmmm - more toys.!!!

I was given a set of Astra G wheels not so long ago, and that was really what stopped me doing this to my last cav, no funds to buy wheels and conversion bits.
Handbrake is on order £15 for both bits all good really.

Re: 93 Cav LS - Run about
Sump and end crank seal. I'd be more worried if I had a clutch, but as its the torque convertor I'm just leaving it and topping up as required for now. Don't have the tools to lift the box out and drop the convertor off to get to the seal so it will get done once I get then 18Se in and I muck about with the c18NZ (might rebuild it and find something to drop it in, mk3 astra or something )Robsey wrote:more parts for the stock pile

Re: 93 Cav LS - Run about
Mines been dribbling for about 12 months now, just top up every few weeks as required. (Rear crank seal)
I do need to change my clutch release bearing at the same time - I can hear it ticking when I dump the clutch pedal...unless I have a loose clutch plate spring, but I am 90% sure it is the bearing!!
Ah well - when time and funds allow!

Shouldn't take you long. Just a ball ache that you have to drop the drive shafts out too I suppose.Robsey wrote:Mines been dribbling for about 12 months now, just top up every few weeks as required. (Rear crank seal)

Re: 93 Cav LS - Run about
I've said it a dozen times before.
It is a whole lot easier than a Mk2 Punto 16V...never again.
I've dropped the box off a Mk 2 Cavalier a few times, and done the flywheel, so the Mk3 won't be much harder.
I even have the famous 36mm socket for the end plug on the output shaft (F10 gearboxes etc).
Like I said, just time and money...and to be honest - getting the incentive to do it. I'm too damn lazy on jobs that can't be done in the driver's seat, or in my kitchen

Come on, finger out and get it done (once you've bought the parts anyhow )Robsey wrote:I've said it a dozen times before.

Re: 93 Cav LS - Run about
It's a bit of a challenge to find just the release bearing without the full clutch kit!!
Don't really want to spend money that I simply don't have, and that I shouldn't need to.
The seal is easy enough to find
