fantastic find matey, good for u to find an sri of the same colour for all ur parts.

personally i would fit the grille without the badge, and see how u feel about it, then swap it ova for the one with the badge, and see if you think it looks better or worse.

i will be keeping an eye on your progress, so keep it up, lol.

ps welcome to the site, not seen if u in intros or not, so thought it worth a shout here.

Personally If you see a good one in the breakers, drill out all the spot welds and take the full floor...

Then just cut out the rot, and replace it where needed. Least you'll know it will fit and won't need to keep stop starting to make alterations.

Just a thought :)

here we go folks
since the last time i had the dash swapped over an you seen all the rust an rot

so i'll go from that
More bad bits we got an cut out, these bits were really bad

got the front welded in an a coat of red hammerite till prevent any rust startin in future
Image
Image

ah few wee pics of the welded parts put in
Image
Image
Image
Image

never got any more pics as i kept forgettin the camera an wanted the cav finished
so after the welding inside was finished, we sat about painting the inside of the car with rust proofing an hammerite

got all the car covered
then we sat about undersealing the underside an that was done the next day an left to sit for a day or 2 an let all dry

then we stuck the interior in as it was very dark in the shed we got no pics at all

but here it is, pics took today

Looking good matey, I did much the same with my TD dash as i didn't like the grey but rather than changing the dash I just used vinyl paint, the results are pretty good. i may change the dash for a proper black one in the future though.

Looks like it had quite a bit of rot to deal with but you have done a sterling job sorting it all out so total respect to you

Look forward to seeing more

firstly cracking WIP but i know you said you had to continue with the cav but hooolllllyyyy sh1t mate that cav shell is fooked!!!

and i hope to hell that the welding holds up coz im thinking about your safety fella !!!

but you showed the most determination that ive ever seen on a project!

and ploughed through some horrid moments and i salute you sir!!!!

so were all grateful youve saved her and look forward to seeing what it failed on,

mine passed last week only 2 advisorys both being the rear bearing needing tightening up so over the moon with that,

hope the re-test goes as planned and as youve put soo much effort in i hope you get the green slip!

again great read and i'll be def following your cav in the future.

I'm impressed on how fast you've turned this around really. I've scrapped shells cleaner than this I'm embarrased to say :(
So, any more progress on this one? ;)

Depends on the ride you want...

Powerflex bushes can be a little too stiff, resulting in a harsh ride

So not to everyones taste
