I love the Cesaro interiors as they look really 90's! and so do Prefacelift Expression, only thing is they are standard and not sport :-(

And Diplomat/expression wheels do look retro too.

I love seeing my old cav parked in carpark all polished up with ne the continetal tyres nice and black. Like going back in time, and I'm always plsying 90's music, think its my mid 30's crisis kicking in.

Can't wait to get the wheels fitted as i really love how old school they are.
I'm always playing old music in my cavs.

Sprayed my spoiler today its not completely perfect due to flimming dog hair getting into the laqcuar but its not hardly noticeable really.
Gave it a go over with some grey primer, red primer, 76l carmine red and four coats of clear to give that deep red shine.

I don't ever remember a Halfords bargain bucket bin in my local branch. I will have to ask them to introduce one, and I might suggest a few items they can drop into it hehe (torque wrench, sat nav, axle stands etc etc!)

Vauxhall cavalier L f reg saloon gsi rep two tone project.

Post by cavaliersri130 »

Right off again next week from 31st for a week so interior is coming out, I mean being stripped out all foam and being wax oiled.
Then cleaned sri carpet is going in with no sound deadening on it as that's all coming off.
Seats back in and full sri/cesaro trim.

Can't wait she's going to be loud with no foam or sound deadening but who cares I hate it just collects water and creates rust.

So watch this space for a massive change in my cavs interior.
Weather forbidding that is.

You might find the carpet a bit loose without it as the sound deadener creates the profile for the carpet to follow and varies in thickness following the body shape.

the heater went cold last Thursday........

Yeah as planetc says it will look a mess with no sound deadening in. Its really thick stuff and creates the right shape for the carpet to sit on.

Never thought of that, how could I get round it without leaving the carpets out.
As I don't want the sponge anymore.
Not unless I find some really good thick matts to go in instead of the carpets.

Find a way to seal the sponge so it's not absorbant?

Interior nearly in all trim is done just need to get door card sand seats in and cleaned a job for tomorrow me thinks.
All sound proofing is gone and carpet is holding up ok so I'm pleased with that as I know it's going to be loud but atleast they'll be no water build up now.
Also wax oiled inner sills and A pillars, lots of it to make sure no future or further rust.
Also spray some under carpets on flooring in areas with rust.

Here's some pics so far.

More to come.

Here you go.
Under sealed doors.

Image
Cut holes in door cards for winders as no Leccys in this old bird and have decided to leave it that way less electrics to go wrong.

So what you think more tomoz.

Cavaliers interior is nearly all in and finished.
I have a few little bits left to do, I need to try to find some new black interior door handles.
I have the door rubbers in the shed that need to be fitted.

ImageImageImageImageImage

Some few bits left to do tomorrow, got to fit a few last bits of trim and I need to find a bracket for the rear split seats.

What method did you use to cut the rear door winder holes?

I used a hole cutting attachment for the drill.

They are already marked with the position of the winder holes so its just a case of drilling it.
