Looking good.

Question: Am I seeing it right when it looks like you're using vicce grips for your welders earth strap or is just a trick of the cabling?

Yes I am well spotted!
Works a treat!

I presume it gives a more secure clamping effect, and also puts the earth return very close to the welding area.

Quite a clever idea really. :ugeek:

It's been a long time but far from forgotton. This evening after I fitted some tyres to my wheels I set about fitting them on the back to see how far they stuck out. Well a little more than desired. So custom link arms it is to get the track right.
Pictures to follow when I work out how to do it

Still looking the dogs danglies despite being stood for so long.

It will be nice to see this next to mine in your unit.

Hmm them wheels do go well, but I can see the potential for severe arch damage / clashing.

Looking good, it looks like the left side is sticking out abit more than the right side?

its an illusion that dan. The driver side is lower and the wheelarch is more flared as its a replacement panel.
if you measure of the body its equal

Been doing this for years, I think it was when I was trying to weld at a section where I couldn't really get both the earth clamp and grips on, and too much hassle to reach the earth out and onto something like the door striker so just put the earth on the end of the moles.

Changed my mind on the rear vectra subframe.
Tempted to fabricate a custom tubular rear frame with adjustable arms.
But anyway for now ill get it to the workshop while I set about thinking of a design

After all that work! Suppose you can still use the new mounting points you made. You could easily make a very simple rear subframe.

Something like that would work just leave out the diff mount:
