this came up on mig and for only £500 i thought why not, bit of a impulse buy
need to have a better look around her, but so far it needs two rear arches, think the sills will need doing, one spring has snapped, leaking brake pipe somewhere other than that the engine seems good, its quite but i dont think it had been driven for years so that may need looking at.
so yeah it will get a good looking over then i will go from there with weather to break or save it.

this was before i hoovered it, seems solid

Not bad, whats she like underneath going by those arches. The sills probably had it by the looks of it

She is the same colour as well as age ,not 4x4 though. But if underneath is
fine can't see it being problem in becoming a good WIP

Ive had alook round it and it really is the most original gsi ive ever seen other than the magnex exhaust. It even still has the full engine undertray fitted which is proper rare, original radio too, Cloth interior which is all MINT hardly a mark on it. The engine runs mint too.

BUT....... Its rusty! The rear inner and outer arches are really bad, the back half of the sills are knackered and someones started a crap job at repairing one side allready so that needs removing and starting again. The panels are all solid, doors bonnet etc.. so as long as the underneath isn't as bad as the arches then it will be ok but if the floors falling out then its a breaker i reckon.

Plenty of nice bits on it though if it does get broken, I have my name on a few of them allready lol

Was a bargain at 500 quid though i reckon.

over the past 2 days i've been digging the garden up to i can get a car down the side of the house so we can still use the drive i can mess with the cav.
thats all done now and the cav is down the side of the house. started removing some bits after work, passenger seat rear bench and some center console bits
plans are to get the carpets out and see what state the floor is in.

this is how it looked before i started, see the left side of the image

looks good Dan, GLS looks a lot fresher compared with the GSi.

Do the carpets feel damp in the GSi or bone dry ?
