Re: cavalier project b204
Ha! Best get my 3bar map sensor ordered then! Its only about 275-285. The theoretical dynograph from t5 suite shows 284hp but seen above and below with others. Next on the list is bigger intercooler and more boost. Can get another .3 bar from my turbo to get the most from it. Still wont break the 300mark with this turbo though! Maybe 299 ha.
Re: cavalier project b204
hah what size is your cooler pipes look tiny? should see the new fmic i got fecking massive!! bigger than most cav engines lol

Ouch! Best thing about these engines forged.
Only pics iv got are on this thread.
Iv still got a few things to do before id call it finished, hell its never gunna be finished, ill always find summat!
Im so used to always having a constant list of things I need whereas now the cav doesnt need anything other than driving. If that makes any sense?

I used to have slabs on b4 but Cav is lowered 60mm all round it's not the softest ride but it not the hardest I've always thought a good set of 5 spoke alloy look good on any Cav stick with 5stud of go for the penta's 17s are just too hard a ride 16's are just right it took me a while to find these 16 tsw stealth's but woudnt say no to a set of 17 tsw stealth's there's the corsa c Sri 5spokes aswell they look nice

Re: cavalier project b204
What's it like having nearly 300 bph through front wheels ?
Re: cavalier project b204
i had 270 bhp and 345 lbs of torque through front wheels on my old cav sri, and the torque steer was scary, and in the wet it was bloody deadly, had a few narrow escapes in that one lol, Adsjoe cavalier sri wrote:What's it like having nearly 300 bph through front wheels ?

Heavy foot and alot of cars will beat you off the line and you will feel embarassed. 3rd upwards and its brilliant juSt becareful what revs and throttle halfway round a corner. Turbolag can be the difference of starting to go round then going very much straight on.
Simple terms, brilliant!

Re: cavalier project b204
No i got rid in favour for a suzuki 4x4 which i still have. If you believe in that spiritualist stuff then this might be interesting, the suzuki unbeknown to me has its bday on the same year as my brothers crash and was the same year as he was born. The problem i had with it was i lost my older brother in a car crash and all the memories i had of this car are that. He wanted the car but i wouldnt sell him it. Instead he bought something that hadnt had as much care taken when it was built, add that to stupidity and it didnt end well. But that was 2013 and things have moved on much.
Funnily enough iv just updated my other cavalier thread! I built it in memory for my brother as he was building one. I wanted to finish that one but family problems wouldnt allow it. So i found a clean base and took it from there.

Intrigueing story regarding the Suzuki and your brother.
There are things that do seem to simply "drop in to place" with amazing councidence.
I have a similar story regarding a Yaris that I sold to Envoy CDX. It is in a thread of his.
The link being the name Gary. But nothing as tragic as your situation.
With regard to your other thread -
It is always interesting to see cars improved or adapted (legally) with non-standard parts.
I like to see original or alternative ideas being implemented.

Re: cavalier project b204
I wish saab would have worked with a vauxhall to make a decent turbo car. A saab powered 200ts would be awesome. Even though they are based on the mk3 astra and the later ones vectra they are a shambles in comparison to vauxhall. I think saab skimped on everything but the engine back then and now they skimp on everything!
Thats why improving and adapting is worthwhile sometimes
