Its been a while since i updated this now. Well after my pipe bender failed to bend my tube troy decided to build his own bender and so i decided to wait till this was done and see how his works.

And well it bends really well. Heres a picture of 2 bends, bottom one i did with my bender with the pipe rammed full with sand and the top one i did with troys hand built bender from scratch first time:

As you can see its very near perfect compared to my benders effort, so troy you should be well happy with it 8-)

So i made a start on the main hoop for my cage. All was going well until i came across the next problem:
Image

Its too small! When ordering the tube the bloke on the phone assured me 2.5 metres would easily do the hoop, clearly he was wrong! So i will be ordering a 3 metre length and will be trying again.

Heres some pics of troys bender in action:

Wow those bends are better than I expected. Thats such a shame I would of love to see that main hoop done its So annoying that the guy assured you 2.5 metres was going to be enough when very well isn't. Could u get us a 3meter piece as I'm going to crack on with mine after your finished with it.

Not bad if the bike is well designed though

Also you can lock the rear suspension on it so its just like a normal bike. Allot of the top end bikes have that function these days.

Well due to now having a baby on the go I have decided to scrap the cage idea for now as time is now against me to get it roadworthy again really then the cage can be added in anytime.

I bought an F20 off troy, then I can get the engine bay painted and engine bolted in.

So yeah still got it lol

I havent touched this for a while as my camper van project has taken over for now. But i did do abit on it tonight whilst waiting for some bits to turn up for the camper.

I carried on doing the seam welding in the engine bay, i had a play with the settings on my welder and so had some good welds going on today:

And some nice penetration for troy......

I also stripped back ALL the seam sealer in the bay to see if there was any more rust hiding but i can confirm that my engine bay is currently rust free lol. For how long who knows

Engine bay is very nearly ready for some paint! 8-)

Today seeing as though i was in a cav mood i thought i might aswell get this dam engine bay finished.

So i had one last bit to make and that was some fixed strut brace mounts. I haven't made the brace itself yet as i dont know where it needs to fit around the engine, could of guessed but may aswell make that when the engines in.

So i cut 2 pieces of tube 3" long, cut a wedge out of the side and then welded a nut/plate to the top and ended up with something like this:

Then a VERY quick sand down:

And primer:

Who knows might even buy some kind of paint for it tommorow :o

I recommend trying welding at some point. I have just taught myself really never been to college or anything like that, ive had loads of practise though and some great tips off other people.

Its a good skill and can save you allot of money and once your actually setup with a good welder then it doesnt actually cost you much at all.
