No robesy, the light is still on . The cav has been tucked away. my electric mirrors are not working I've checked the fuse it's ok not sure what relay works it.when I press my rear heated windscreen on the light on the electric mirrors switch lights. but I'm sure my old gsi you pressed the wee button on the electric mirrors switch it lit .but it does not light only when I press rear windows demister , any thoughts

On my 1994 Cavalier (electric mirror retro fit),
The mirrors demisted when the rear window demister switch is on.
I believe the earlier Mk2 cavaliers and Astras had a demister button and indication light on it's own specific switch.
Note also that the mirror demister will stop working if you have either of the mirror motors switched on... rocker switch out of centre position.

Mine (1990) has the mirror demisting button which I believe keeps them heated for about 10 minutes.
Never noticed they don't work if not in the middle position! I nearly always have mine switched to the nearside so I can keep an eye on the kerb!

Bit of spec history coming up.
Up until the facelift in 1992, there was a small button on the mirror switch which would heat the mirrors up independently from the rear screen. It was time controlled so it would switch itself off after a set amount of time. However, the user could not turn it off. Once it was switched on it stayed on until the timer ran out.
Up until 1991, the rear screen switch itself was not time controlled so it would stay on until the user switched it off. Even after turning the engine off it would come back on again when you next started the engine.
After the facelift in late 1992, the independent mirror heater button was axed and the system was incorporated into the rear window demister.
It was time controlled and the user could turn it off early if they wanted. The best of both worlds? Perhaps.
Anyway, sounds like you have some facelift componentry somewhere along the line.

I am sure you will get the link working soon enough - it is usually down to the complex scripting or syntax that they use that confuses everything.

Yes Smoke Grey is a very popular colour, although I could never understand why until I saw it in the metal.
(I was convinced it was just another boring silver, but nope it is much nicer than that).
It really does suit the GSi, Turbo and SRi trim levels.

My cavvy was driving ok this morning to work, went into it at home time and it was just turning over, tried a few times then started pumping the accelerator, it started but was stutter then cut out, done this few times, managed to get it home on a 10 mile journey spluttered a few times, seems ok for now, any ideas anyone what it could be, was going to replace fuel filter first, was maybe thinking starved of fuel

Fuel starvation seems very likely.
I wonder if that is due to restricted fuel flow...
Flaking / internally corroded fuel pipes.
Or
Blocked filter.
Or fuel leak to the throttle body.?
Or
Is it insufficient fuel pressure caused by...
a weak pump
Or
Weak fuel pump relay.
Or
Fuel pressure regulator.?
