Vauxhall Cavalier 1.7TD/SRI/diplomat :)

Post by Super89 »

Right ive had this Cavalier for the last 3 years, Payed £300 for it. Was a right mess when i got it, Coat hanger aerial  very very pink paint work big dent in both front and rear doors drivers side but the main thing was that it is solid hardly any rust and no previous welding.

shes done 176k miles and still going strong. Started out as a basic 1.7TD LS. Since then ive changed all the doors bumpers etc.. Just recently ive fully changed the spec to diplomat apart from the air con, Outside im going for facelift SRI looks.. Still not 100% done but shes getting there. :thumb

I know, the V6 is murder on fuel around town... Barely get 40 miles to £15 in mine, steady no-nonsense driving....

Looking good mate, quite an interesting project there, Should register it as a new special edition model, the Cavalier Turbo Intercooler, with an economical engine and Diplomat spec

I see you swapped the stereo into the lower crevasse, I tried fitting the cd holder into that one on my auto but it wouldn't stay in, maybe it needed an adapter or something... Does it fit well in yours?

All fits just fine, Had to really push the cd player in, even without the storage tray in there. The CD holder clips in perfect like it was made for that spot :thumb

Did the rear engine mount today, One on the left was non genuine and had only done about 3000 miles if that. Feels alot better with the GM one on.
Image

Cav also passed the MOT with a few advisories.

Had a play with the fuel & boost again today, 1.7 bar & nearly a full turn on the pump. Pulls really good :cheers
