Vectra A 2000i 16V

Post by Flotte »

Hi all!
As suggested I'll post here each modifications of my Vectra A 2000 (Cavalier GSI 2000).
At the moment, the car is full stock!! my goal is not to boost the performance, just to make it as strong as possible to last a looong time =)
I'll start by changing the coolant circuit (tank, radiator, hoses, water pomp).
I'll post pictures when it's done but I am actually waiting for the hoses.

As I have changed my 4 tyres, here is a picture to see how well it is "under" the car!!
There is barely no rust!!

And the new tyres are: HANKOOK VENTUS PRIME 2 K115 XL 205/55R15 92 V

Where do you guys buy all your parts?
I am asking because I am thinking of buying new shock absorber and springs

OE spec or 'performance' parts? Bilstein B4 dampers are made to OE specification, but if you're looking for parts to enhance the ride of your Cavalier/Vectra A, then you could do a lot worse than Koni Sport adjustable dampers and Eibach Pro-Kit lowering springs. Is your car a GSi2000 4x4 or standard front-wheel drive?

It is a front wheel drive, I am not really searching for performance but more for sustainability.
I have seen the bilstein, it was more than 1000€ the 4 shocks absorber with the springs. it is too expensive for me at the moment..

In which case, you could look for genuine (and heavily discounted) new OE parts by punching the part numbers into http://www.genuinepartsearch.co.uk

That looks amazingly clean and rust free.
Rear spring seats are a common problem area for rust but they look perfect.
