made a few changes to the cav this wknd ,

changed the wheels over as the tyres where shot on the silver 17,s managed to get all 4 in the boot

changed the rear shocks for some cheap G-MAX , the standard GM,s were popped , took the rubbers out of the rear springs , sat a bit lower 8-)

Image

gave the rear calipers / discs black as they were red when i got it .

T-cut the black tinting spray off the rear lights aswell as painting the bumper strips black as red didnt look right , will post a pic of the bumpers with black

id leave the door strips otherwise they look bald, veccy handles are worth doing

could always tint the inside of the headlights and indicators if you going for black on white?

if you remove the bumpstrips then you have to remove the black bumper inserts and fill the area left then respray the bumpers... and yes as gaz said they do look a little bald... :D

It looks good now a bit like the 1995 BTCC cavalier without the decals.Think it looks better with the rubbing strips left on

After the cav was mended , made a start on the C20let lump that is a paper weight in the garage
Image

this was the old escort Rs turbo manifold welded to a C20xe flange i was using when it was in the astra
Image

think it got a cooking at 17psi :D

Image

brought this s14 megan racing manifold for cheap
Image
Image

got the 9" disc cutter out , to relive it of its flange
Image

a mate will be tig welding the flange on , aswell as a T3 flange , as soon as i face the flange up on the surface grinder

took the old T3 apart at work , due to bordom and for a freshen up ,
Image

will be running a 44mm external waste gate so faced up the exhaust side on the surface gringer , as it wasent 100% flat

Image

fitted the 3" tophat
Image

at the moment work is feeling the blow , so hours got cut , so will be put on hold :cry , but im sourcing more parts when money permits

still thinking of going for a T04e steel rods and changing the current EDS phase 2 chip for an Evo 5 , already swapped the saab reds for VXR,s .

Are you good at making things yourself, well done. :cool

The AFM fault could be down to faulty wiring at the plug. Thats what I had on mine. The wire was down to just a few strands making a conection.

hi folks , things have been a little slow , due to work hours taking a major crash ,

cav is still going , had to change the alternator last week , battery light was blinking its tits off ,multimeter confirmed it was shot

what a job that was , had to drop the alternator out the bottom of the car :wall , then had to jump it off my mates C16xe nova saloon lol

Image

changed the wheels over as the black ones had a bad buckle that couldnt be balanced out :cry

got my manifold back off my mate , after 2 x flange swaps and external wastegate / screamer pipe :cool

Image

trial fitted , clears the rocker cover / breather pipe

Image

start a new job in september , but in the mean time ive sourced some turbo bumpers , might stick with different 17,s , or have been offered a set off turbo rims , along with v6 5 stud hubs , so might go down that route , but dont think it will get down my road lowwered 60 :p

small update , decided on the 5 stud conversion , so dont have to keep drilling 288 discs for 4 stud

used saab 900 rear hubs , same as vectra rears , but the handbrake is up the top  and vectra hubs pressed into the front legs with new bearings

borrowed a set of retro looking saab 900 16" alloys , until get the turbo rims sent down from up north

not keen on these wheels they look so 1991 max power
Image

polybushed the rear beam , as it was starting to feel like a water bed , didnt take any photos :wall

faced up the manifold at work

Image

waiting for space up my mates garage to swap engines over :wave

not in much of a rush at the mo , now winter is here :cry

Gsi bumpers are nearly finished in paint , will be going on when the engine is in

Image

made an f28 collar , for the 2wd conversion plate

Image

takes up the space where the transfer box went

Image
Image
