Headlamp Wiper locations

Post by vaux16v »

Hi. I see a few topics about headlight wiper fitting.

Was wondering was there ever any measurements for drilling the holes given.

If not could anyone please give me a few measurements if possible.

Thanks.

I meant to look this up on TIS.
I know Gaz retro fitted these on his car, but he hasn't been around here for 4 1/2 years.

I will see what I can find out.

I believe there are some holes in the inner wing under the headlight that the wiper assembly fixs to, as for the panel I can measure one I have but there are 2 holes for each wiper offset 1 for the motor shaft & 1 for the washer fluid

I took of the head lights and seen the holes along with the plugs.
I only need the two holes as you mentioned there as dont have the part were the wiper sits on. Seem to be hard to get.

A few measurements wud be great when you get the chance.

The way I would do it is get a picture and draw on it datum lines.

1 at the end of the metal strip and
1 along the top edge.

Then make a sketch of the strip.
Mark on this sketch, how far each hole is from the end.
And how far below the top edge.

Now measure the strip on your car to work out how much you need to multiply the dimensions (scale) to suit your car.

Height of your metal strip ÷ height in picture = "X".

Then multiply X by the dimensions on your sketch.

It would be more accurate to work out the length along the strip to the bottom of the inner end of the head lamp as this is a longer dimension to compare.

And there you have it :)

I hope that makes sense.

I looked on TIS, but it mentions nothing regarding the holes in the front strip.

Thanks for that Robsey.

I was thinking of something a bit different but was along those lines. Lol.

Will be doing a bit measuring this weekend.
