ABS and Tech1

Post by Cav v625 »

Hi guys . Still haven’t sorted the abs fault. I was wondering if anyone has a Tech1 and is anywhere near Scotland or maybe knows someone with a Tech1 up here that could help me get to the bottom of it . Thanks

I'm in the south east, so about as far away as possible!
I always bring my Tech1a to events and shows however. I'm going to VBOA and vauxfest this year if it helps.

What year is your Cav?

I believe you can only use the Tech1/Tech1a on ABS systems after 1991 ish.
I know I can't use it on my 1990 CD anyway.

You could always use AutoScanner / OpelScanner.

It will give live data from the wheel sensors, and carry out function tests just like Tech 1 can.
And clear historic fault codes.

The only thing it cannot do is program modules.

As for VBOA, I see it is at Sywell Aerodrome in Northampton in early July.
And VauxFest is at Billing Aquadrome on the first weekend in September.

Not sure which event I will be attending yet.
The car interior needs a lot of attention :?

Hi James : My Cav is a 1993 Cesaro V6. It’s been absolutely awesome for 16 years. But this year the abs seems to have had a minor stroke and it’s driving me crazy. If possible I will catch up at one of the shows. Till then I will look for the other machine to read the car

I think James McGrath and Humbucker snapped up all the UK based Tech 1 / 1a units between them.

I have only seen rediculously over priced American units, that probably wouldn't have the correct modules anyway.

As for OpelScanner - have a look on ebay.
(AutoScanner Opel).

Glad to be of assistance :thumb

Forgot to put up a link to my AutoScanner thread.

Look here to see if it might do what you were looking for.
