My cav 1.8i 1995 saloon!
My cav 1.8i 1995 saloon!
Hi,
Here are some pictures of my cavalier! The guy I bought it off wanted to upgrade it to a sri, I decided to keep it original and I love it! Been stored for 10 years, I think and is in a really good condition with 59k miles on the clock!
It also came with two sets of wheels.

I tweaked your links, to make them work.
Looks like a very nice shiny example.
And a great colour.

Re: My cav 1.8i 1995 saloon!
Welcome Janina.
That is really nice, like new, love the shine, the condition, the colour too, but what colour is it ... is it Jungle/Velvet Green Pearl, the same as mine?
It's really hard to tell the hue, it might be blue.
Now to controversial matters.
1) The hatch to me is prettier than the saloon, as well as being ever so much more practical.
2) I'm a bit of a curmudgeon where aftermarket or original wheels are concerned.
Wheels as shown aren't too OTT. The originals, if they're the alloy type the same as earlier CD models, really suit it though too.
Enjoy.

I've always preferred the hatch on all cavaliers and vectras.
As for the wheels, those fitted look a bit off, too wide or offset too low

That looks pretty smart, good to hear it's been kept more or less original. Not sure why you would want to turn it into an SRI, probably thinking it would sell for more.
Not really getting the whole upgrade "scene" these days, seems everyone is slamming their cars and putting the biggest wheels possible on them. If the roads weren't full of potholes I'd maybe understand!

Hmmm - I am slightly guilty. I lowered my Cav by 30 / 40mm when I refurbed it.cavalier1990 wrote: ↑Wed May 19, 2021 7:25 am Not really getting the whole upgrade "scene" these days, seems everyone is slamming their cars
I am not sure if it was new struts, springs and bushes, or the lowering that made the car feel much stiffer and almost a bit harsh when I got back behind the wheel.
It did not seem as bad a few years later.
Softened / settled in suspension parts, or had I simply got used to the harder ride?
If I had it to do again.. I would have left it standard.
As for the SRi bit... I have a few SRi bits on my car - exhaust, seats and interior.
Nice exhaust sound, and nice supportive seats.
I do like the colour scheme too.
My black SRi interior looks nicer to me than the originsl old tired LSi grey trim.
And there is something eye-catching about the contrasting red SRi rub-strip and bumper stripes.
Just saying - ha ha.

Wheels & lowering are not really an upgrade in my opinion that's modifying,cavalier1990 wrote: ↑Wed May 19, 2021 7:25 am Not really getting the whole upgrade "scene" these days, seems everyone is slamming their cars and putting the biggest wheels possible on them. I've fitted parts from higher spec model cars to mine such as front fog lights, Dual info Display digital clock / outside temperature, rear headrests & interior light with map lights & the illuminated vanity mirrors in the sun visors.

That's very specific, but I feel the same when people go on about "detailing" their cars in the same way I detail mine with a bucket and sponge!!
