1995 1.8 Expression - may sell

Post by sam47 »

I saved this car from going to scrap a while ago and it's still in daily use, but it will need some serious work soon.
I'd consider offers to sell this as is, because I don't have anywhere to work on it any more.
I've already done the timing belt and water pump, which were hanging by a thread. Next would be bodywork and doing something about the leaky tailgate seal. Some interior trim bits want done as well.

Hi Sam,
Overall the car looks in pretty good nick.
Okay the odd scuff on the bumper corners and the door-bottom scab.
But other than that it looks like a nice tidy car.

Generic hatch and boot seals can be purchased, so not a big issue, although usually it is a leaky aerial base or a perforated boot floor that lets water into the load area.

Being a 1.8 (8 valve) if the belt had failed, it would not have caused valve damage - these are quite safe engines.

The only issue I had with our C18NZ, was the head gasket used to fail when my wife raced her colleagues up the local motorway.
She was a girl racer.

If you sell the Cavalier, you may regret it later, because there aren't many cars out there with the same type of character.
