fitted a switch to manually switch on the fan when required (only had a two switch holder, so the other one is a spare lol,) anyway these are concealed when the ash tray flap is down,

I havnt posted for a while, just a brief update, I havnt done much to the cav, but in a moment of weak ness I put the cav up for sale, as I was a bit disalluisioned with it after the turbo started smoking, I wanted 5k for the cav and got a couple of reasonable bites, but at the end of the day couldn't bring myself to sell her, as I have had it 8 yrs now, and with all the work I have done I just couldn't do it, anyway I had it out last weekend and the turbo wasn't smoking and it was running better than ever, so im glad I made the right decision, im am looking at getting a new tubular manifold and turbo in the new year, for a bit more power, but im not sure, as its running about 260bhp now and i don't really want to start changing brakes etc to cope with more power, decisions decisions lol Ads

Ads this is a fine example, it's easy to get rid but more than likely would only regret it at a later date.
I would of thought the sentiment value would if been more than 5k.
5k is fudge all these days

you are quite right Troy, at the end of the day i couldnt sell it at this time, ive had it 8yrs now and gone through quite a bit of shit with it at different times, and it still here, and like you say theres not many left in this condition, and in my opinion i think prices will increase the rarer there become. Why not put it back to standard? Sell all the shiney bits under the bonnet etc... New grill badge, just make it all mint and original and i bet it will make 5k then plus you will have the money from all the bits you just sold.

Looks bloody clean to me dude.

Interesting about the manual fan switch, I was tempted to put one in the V6 when one of the million temperature sensors was playing up.

Get those headlamp seals pulled back into position and it will complete the front end! :thumb

Yeah Dan that was an option mate also kind of wish id done all the hoses in black silicone which would have toned it down a bit , now its strange how your tastes change as you get older. I also have a spare exhaust and iam keeping the standard turbo setup spare in case I want to return to standard or if I ever do sell up.

I got my toyosports tubular manifold yesterday, and it a pretty good build quality, the welds etc look really strong and neat, anyway built it up with the turbo for a mock fit, to determine measurements etc.

on the measurements I got it will foul the standard radiator fan, but this is not a problem as I can fit a couple
of small slim line fans behind the front grill onto the radiator, blowing the air from the front of the car through
the radiator, everything else should fit, just want external wastegate and a few odds and sods, when funds allow, lol
then start fitting, happy days lol

Thats looking good, should sound great too when its on.

You should make up a metal bracket from the turbo to the block, this will help support the welds on the manifold.

thanks it should be capable of easily 270/280bhp at reasonably low boost pressure. I was thinking of using a 9psi spring in the wastegate and go from there.

But as you say Dan it should sound and go reasonably well.
