dropped the cav back down on its front wheels for the first time in weeks

Image

pic of the engine bay showing the tubular manifold, looks quite good I think

Image

engine ran up to temp and looks ok, no oil or water leaks that I can see, the only problem I have is the wideband is not reading,
I couldn't be bother to jack it back up today to check it out, so will have to wait till next weekend

I acquired a Vectra GSI steering wheel for a very reasonable price, I know I had one on the cav before and took it off and sold it, but I have always like them and regretted getting rid of the other one, anyway fitted the steering wheel today, and I think it looks well, some pics

I'm after the wiring to connect from the steering wheel controls to the stereo unit

Steering wheel looks good and in good condition. I've seen a few for sale with the sliver worn off. I've got a 3 spoke vectra b sri one to replace the 4 spoke vectra fitted at the moment .

well I fitted the 11.6 psi spring into the actuator, and put some pre load on the actuator arm, and t00k it out for a test drive, it seemed to be the fastest its been for a long time, holding about 12psi and over boosting to about 15 - 16 psi, and the fuelling was ok on my wide band,, I'm over the moon the way it was running, I took a couple of pics before it went back in the garage, hasn't been cleaned for a while, but it still looks ok,

As you know, I love the look of your car on those wheels, but you really should have asked Santa for weather strips for your headlights! Track some down. They'd tidy the front end of your motor no end. Great to hear that it is running so well.

Good to hear. Nice work on the new grille. Can you just swap the badges over? Or is your current badge glued on?

the cavs been in the body shop for the last week or so, it had the bonnet, both front wings and the front bumper and under the headlights re painted, the reason being my dad damaged the bonnet with the garage door and several scratches on the wings, the pics are not the best as it was about 5pm and the light was not the best

the bonnet needs re aligning, but that nowt to worry about, and the front end looks a lot fresher.
