in the past i did rush doing jobs but that was because i needed to use the car now i have no need as i have a van, so each job can be done properly.

this evening never went so well, i made another bit but wasnt happy with it so launched it at the wall.

think i was trying to make to much before any of it was welded in position.

so made a template and cut my home made panel to fit exactly where the old panel was.

you can see in the second pic it fits perfectly, the right hand side needs slight adjustment but i thought it was good overall

once take was removed founf the chassis had quite abit of surface rust on them with bit of scabs here and there.

Here's where were up to at the minute.

i've had a quote of my local sandblasters to blast the underside of my car including engine bay.

quite please with the price so gonna go ahead with it

means i have to remove everything from under the car and in the engine bay, but think it will be well worth it in the long run.

gonna coat the underside with a zincing formula with very simular characteristics of hot dip. the product is zinga and its not cheap but one of the best zinc coatings in the world. i first seen it used on oil rigs wen i was out there many moons ago.

check and the website http://www.zinga-uk.com

Will be good and solid when finished...and very tidy.

Nice tidy welds and brilliant fabrication...even if I do keep repeating myself on this :thumb

TIt's really good tbh. It's cathodic protection rather than paint which is a film bonded to the surface. Only downfall is works best on blasted steel

Not a downfall for me cause I've blasted to the correct spec.
Works ok on non blasted steel but it must be decreased and free of any rust and paint.

bit of an update. floor has been painted, looks well nice to say its under the car, waiting for fuel tank, exhaust hangers and some other bits to return from the powder coaters.

i've make some tank straps out of stainless steel as i've been unable to find any in good condition.

i'm replacing all the fuel pipes as they were badly corroded, using stainless ptfe fuel pipe and stainless hose clipes.

I'm hoping to keep looking nice and crisp and free of rust. can't wait to take it for mot when its done.

there is still much to be done at though i have only dealt with 1 half of the floor so will leave that til next year, once i have completed the entire floor and engine bay i will have it repainted.

here's a pic of the floor as it is now
