I really cannot see an SRi Astra being any more comfortable than a Cavalier V6. James has the right idea though, good suggestion!

"all I want is a comfortable car now"

Your Cavalier is comfortable, just immobile!

Unless you're going for a Mk4 Astra SRi Turbo (super rare), then you're throwing good money away on a 'boggo' SRi. Go for a Mk4 SRiT or a GSi, or get yourself a Mk5 VXR.

Better still, drop a 3.2-litre V6 into your Cavalier.

Only looking at Mk5 VXRs or SRI with toys at the moment. Although finding ones with everything I want or that hasn't been modified is a task. The good news is that SWMBO has given the expenditure the nod (not that she could really stop me, but approval is better than tutting and rolling of eyes).

Dan is coming round next Saturday for another session with the multimeter and we are armed with some new ideas to try. Just to make it interesting, it started first time yesterday...Fffffffffuu!

Why not take this opportunity to buy a Cavalier Turbo 4x4?

Does look mega tidy after a good scrub. I reckon if you had the V6 fanblades on there, that would be one wicked sleeper!

Ok, so the V6 has sold and for much more than I expected. But I have nagging doubts about the winner, he has no ebay feedback and no buying/selling history, his only communications have been almost caveman like: 'where get car' for example. He has not paid the deposit yet, but I will give him another day and 'do it' via 'the book' so if I have to start a despute with ebay I can be found to have what I am supposed to do.
This was my worry which is why I wrote a comprehensive auction write up, of course, those with minute attention spans won't read it all and that's when crap happens.
On the plus side, the second highest bidder and I have been in contact with lots of sensible questions, so I know I have someone who won't mess me about.

Glad it went for a good price. I thought it would.
Hopefully the winning bidder will pay up soon, if not the second highest bidder sounds promising. Do eBay still have that second chance offer thing?
Be sure to direct the new owners to the forum when they collect it. :thumb

Can't believe no one has put a bid on Pedro yet.

I can use the 'Second chance' offer but I have to ensure I give the buyer 2 full days before starting an official 'unpaid item dispute' which lasts 4 day, after that I can re-offer the car for sale.

There has been interest shown in Pedro, but only for less than I'm asking or for me to pull it from sale for a cash offer. I run auctions to the end, regardless of any offer!

Tidy car Dave
Is that spectral blue metallic or another trick-of-the-light Westminster blue?

I think you're taking a gamble with those valve dust covers...

gamble? anyone?

Sorry to hear that Dave, I do hope that you have given the seller a good earful over this annoying incompetence.

You did sort of expect this...
You said the highest bidder was dicking about..

Did the next highest bidder not want to buy the car?

It is a fine specimen of Vauxhall's finest.

The second highest bidder was the guy who originally was going to buy the car (before I put it on ebay) but has not replied to the messages I've sent him. We'll see how it pans out for a week or so before I put it back on ebay.

"Large box of spares - new and used parts worth at least £200+. These are an integral part of the sale - if you don’t want them, then ADD £200 to the final price of the car."

Interesting sales pitch!
