Dougie's Cavalier GSi 4x4

Post by Dougie_SRi »

This is my Cavalier GSi.

Bought in Feb 2006 with 100,000 miles on clock for £570

Image

Ran it as a daily driver for a year, clocking up 11,000 miles until Jan 07. It was too thirsty for daily use though and the arches were hanging out the back.

It's been off the road for the last year. I was MoT'd in March and I fitted V6 brakes but it was just too slow. So I bought a Nova to put the engine in that, and got a 3.0 V6 Omega engine for the Cavalier. It's been up at Specky's since October being worked on. It's nearly finished. Its going for its MoT tomorrow. It should be on the road for spring.

New inner and outer wheel arches:

3.0 V6 engine:

Spec:

Engine: 3.0 V6, Pipercross panel filter, de-cat exhaust
Transmission: Standard 4x4, F20 close ratio gearbox
Brakes: 288mm Vectra discs and calipers
Suspension: Online Autosport Bilstein kit
Wheels and tyres: Standard GSi 15x6J alloys, 205/55 Continental Sport tyres
Interior: Standard beige trim, Calibra Turbo white dial set
Exterior: Standard.
To be fitted soon: 5-stud Calibra Turbo set up, Cavalier Turbo alloys, cruise control, heated seat kit, enlarged throttle body, custom exhaust, Superchip.
Notes: The air con is all there, and still works, even with the V6 :)

This is it with the 17 inch Rota Slipstream alloys and 205/40 Avon tyres. They're on the car at the moment, but not sure how long they will be. I think the tyre size is wrong for the car and I think I'd prefer Vauxhall wheels. I don't know though, I might leave them on for a bit.
