Another white V6

Post by psl »

Well i ended up buying the unwanted auto v6 off the fleebay, the one with short tax and test and blue interior.......... 4 weeks MoT to be exact lol.
How it looked on the ebay add and on collection
Image

With 45,000 miles from new, i didnt think there would be too many issues with it, so an Mot was booked, presented and duly passed, no problems :thumb so with a full MoT the work can begin. The blue interior was full of fag burns and dog, so no choice but to change it..............didnt want to but i dont smoke and i dont want to be hovering bits of dog for months on end. Another black v6 interior was found but again was dirty but lacked dog hairs, so a full steam clean has been done on this, just need to remove old interior and clean up said car :) , being rather anal about cleaning, repainting screws and such forth but i dont like dirty cars...........

So that`s where it`s at, cleaned, tcutted and waxoiled the boot, just interior to fit, then the body work

Bar the interior colour change, front and rear bumpers and a few upgrades as and when. The bodywork really is the best bit about this car, so should save me in the long run

congratulations on the new motor, look forward to seeing how she progresses as you tidy her up. seriously low mileage for one of these engines but check when the cambelt was done as they need to be changed every 40k miles. anymore than that and you're on borrowed time unfortunately.

I drove this back for paul and it really is a good one. The bodywork and underside are in top nick. It was just the interior that let it down.

Top work paul, look forward to seeing this in the metel again.

Got the rest of the interior stripped out and couldnt wait to get the carpets out................

...........Yep floor just as expected, like new, happy days. Cut the sound deadening out the front as i want to run some extra wires and see if there was any rust / rot under there............... none :)

Not many cav floors like this now, will give it a hover and polish before the newly steam cleaned seats and carpets are fitted

Dash was straight forward to be honest, just got to be methodical in how you do it. Just make sure the dash your going to fit has most of the cable tie clips still in situ, or you`ll stuggle to reposition the loom into place. If things dont slip / clip back into place straight away, just walk away and leave it for a few hours or days or you`ll end up rushing it and snapping something. Took an hour and a half but 4 hrs to fit back in but i was cleaning 15 years worth of fag ash out before i refitted everything. Have a stash of new bulbs to hand too, get them all changed while its all out ;)

Converted the seats to heated seats :thumb will be doing the rears later in the years ;) knocked up a vec front arm rest and fitted the rest of the interior, all plumbed in and working, happy days.
Lots and lots of things still to do and ideas i want to try, all in good time though
