Gsi Lomas Work on My Cav Gsi

Post by Gaz »

I decided to have my head gasket changed, and end up doing the following

Well I didn't actually do anything, my mate did it for me ;D

.Head gasket
.Inlet / out let gaskets
.Valve stem oil steals
.Head bolts
.Hydraulic tappets
.Head skimmed

.Valves (Just cleaned them up)
.Lightened & balance Crank pulley
.water pump
.power steering belt
.Alternator belt
.Crank sensor
.Knock sensor
.Air mass meter -not cheap

.Oil
.Oil filter
.Spark plugs -Bosch super 4s
.Plug leads
.Anti freeze
.Battery
.CV Joints Drivers / passengers - Garage did those
.front & rear break lines fitted

Also it's had the bottom end parts replaced

.Oil pump
.Big end barring
.Sump gaskets

While doing this I seen that my head is coscast

If you leave it like that before you time it, your under no risk of valve contact when you put the head and cams on

no no no no no! what ever you do, if you head off ANY engine it will require retiming (unless you are particularly skilled) but what gaz means is when the head is rebuilt and replaced regardless of how "out" the head/s are the valves can't touch the pistons (basically if it slips and falls on the block as you position it, reduces the chance of impacting the valves and requiring more work)

Gaz loses sleep for my car and helps me with parts at ungodly hours of the day. Awesome
