Vauxhall Cavalier LS Hatchback MK3
Hi, this is my first post although I've been taking inspiration from loads of posts on here in the past year. So here's my MK3 Cavalier LS which I was given by my grandad when he stopped driving. Its been garaged for most of its life so it's in relatively good condition apart from the wheel arches. so I've spent a bit of money on it giving it some subtle modifications and a nice polish every now and again
This is the earliest photo I have of it, back when the only things I had changed was the grill that I changed for what I think is the CDX's, resprayed it matt black and gave it a nice shiny Irmscher badge and resprayed the wing mirrors matt black.

Re: Vauxhall Cavalier LS Hatchback MK3
Here it is from the back with its annoying dent. I got some new mudflaps for it because the originals were knackered and there were only 3 left on the car.

Next to be changed were the steels and hubcaps. I managed to get hold of 5 SRi fanblade alloys from my local garage for pennies!
I rubbed them down and primered them ready for a respray.

Mate that looks proper tidy
Great touch with the grille and mirrors, black on red looks spot on. Good find on the wheels and looks like you've already done the first step, refurb
And welcome to the forum too.
Andrei.

But in the end I decided to get them professionally refurbished and I don't regret it at all! A quick paint over the callipers and they looked as good as new.

I replaced the standard side repeaters for the clear ones, even though they are so small it makes a big difference to the car.

Next to go on were the Wind deflectors. I think they look great
I've lightly smoked the lights to get rid of the harshness of the orange and still be light enough to get me through that dreaded M.O.T !

Looks very tidy indeed. Won't the decal on the mirror cause a fail on the MOT though? An obstruction, a bit like sticking something on your windscreen?

You'd think so, I was pretty unsure about putting it through with them on but it passed and wasn't even mentioned. It may of just been unnoticed, but I didn't really look into ithumbucker wrote:Looks very tidy indeed. Won't the decal on the mirror cause a fail on the MOT though? As for the interior, lucky with the all black dash and door cards. New kenwood head unit and gloss black tax disco holder. The old gaters were knackered and tatty so those got thrown out and replaced with these beauties to match the paint work.
The floor mats are in fairly good condition so I've kept these original, they match the gaters too

Complete Vibe sound system installed with Sub, amp and 6x9's. Resprayed the parcel shelf matt black, looks much better than sun bleached grey.

Re: Vauxhall Cavalier LS Hatchback MK3
So this is where I'm currently at, been wanting to do something about that dent for a while but finally found an SRi boot lip spoiler for hatchbacks, waiting for that to arrive in the post, not sure whether to have it matt black or try and match the colour of the body work, which is going to be hard.. I'm wanting to replace the exhaust with something a little more kinder on the eye. Also, got a cheeky Irsmcher number plate surround.
On the other hand, I fitted a laguna splitter the other day and that's transformed the front.

Off with the old... rusty and was blowing like f**k
And here's the new, had stainless steel tip but I thought I'd keep the theme going through out. So matt black it is.
