hang on there i do love my cav and incase u didnt notice i am restoring it hence the fact that it is has a ladder on top because it doesnt make a difference given the fact that it is having a re spray anyway!!

But dont worry i'll just nip down to my garage remove the ladder make sure she aint bruised give her a kiss and wrap her up in a warm blanket and leave coldplay on in the background for her when i'm not there :D

I did that myself i want to make it look like an sri! orginally they were black.

My favourite cav that i ever owned was a white sri the one that i put my 8v race engine in. Now i want this car to look the same but after owning a v6 auto hatchback i'm gonna build a race engine for this one and the cesaro was the first white saloon that came up! :D

What do you think so far??

Liking the smoothed in spoiler ;)

Vent looks good too - you will have to plumb it into the airbox now so it gives plenty of cold air.

I'd keep the cesaro seats if they are in good nick. They are pretty decent and supportive. Cream Calibra leather would look odd against the black dash and trim on a white car IMO....

The problem is the F25 'box doesnt have a speedo drive. The V6s take their speed pulse from the ABS/TC system, so you will need to tap into that. I'm not sure if the pulse frequency will be right.

The other problem is the rev counter. Obviously the signal from a 6 pot will be a different frequency to the one from a 4 pot. So it will read all wrong. You will need to buy a frquency converter for the pulse signal. You can get them here:

http://www.picbits.co.uk/

Also has some good info on that site.

lam really confused :? "redtop heads" how does he know that? it makes no difference if it had the redtop cover or the ecotec cover as it is the same engine a c25xe. your car would have came with the redtop cover tho and as for the "or is one better than the other etc....?" hmm yes.... these cars are kickin on bout 15 years old so depanding on how they have been looked after and what milage they have done etc some engines will be better then others

hey mate,

great project!
most of the stuff you're doing to yours, i want to do to mine.

i would love to port + polish the heads on mine. and get it re-mapped by courtney etc.

im seriously considering taking my cav off the road for a few weeks, and stripping the lump out of it, and just going mad with it.

hmmm.
my driveway's like a 1986 vauxhall forecourt lol (apart from my mk3 cav's!
