They utilise bandwidth (or waste it in most cases) and to be honest, a PM would probably suffice more.

I would but all they ever seemed to get used for is for people to insult other people with.
If someone wants to start a chat thread, feel free its not the end of the world bandwidth wise as we have plenty.

I use a website that has a chat box http://www.timelessgaming.com/index.php.
They moderate thier shout box and if i recall.... you need to be a registerd member to use the shout box.
Its good for getting someone attention and having an off topic chat.
It can be used for club meets too, although on Timeless we use it for tactics and how to blow sh*t up (in the virtual world).
