As I'd had the Insignia 3 years, it was time for a change at the new end of my collection.. After searching and failing to find an Ampera that fitted, I switched my gaze back to Insignias, and wanted something a bit more, well, lively, than the CDTi160. A couple of 2.0Turbo Insignias passed my eye, but didn't really suit the bill..
I eneded up looking at and buying a Volvo S60. Trying to prove that it's not just middle age, I found an R Design model, which is Volvo's equivalent to the VX-Line. Being a D4 Diesel (I beleive it's Bi-Turbo), it pushes out 190BHP and 400Nm Torque, and pulls 0-60 in 7.6 seconds. Of course being a diesel, it claims big mpg's (up to 72), and so far I've easily acheived 50, even with some spirited new car "my god, this thing really does get up to 60 swiftly" type prods on the right hand pedal.
It seems to have settled in with its Vaux family OK.
The seats are the most comfortable I've sat in for a while in a car. I think I could do serous milage in these with ease.
