The battery I fitted a while back was new, just not the right shape / size and it's been annoying me. Like you said, at those prices, I'd have been mad not too. 4 year warranty jobby too.

That was a good deal!
I've never found Costco membership worthwhile, the decent deals are never anything I want to buy

Not just that, fuel price £1.49.9 per litre at present. Pays for itself as I pass the place daily.ilovedmymantas wrote: ↑Tue Nov 29, 2022 2:33 am That was a good deal!

I used the same donated second-hand wheelchair gel battery in both my mantas and it never let me down, even in winter. it was too tall to close the bonnet so it was laid on its side. It did raise eyebrows at mot time but always passedRobsey wrote: ↑Mon Nov 28, 2022 7:58 pm Cannot grumble at that price.
Just in time before the proper cold weather arrives, to kill off any old or tired batteries.
In years gone by, I have run the Cavalier on electric wheelchair batteries. Not ideal, as they are more like "leisure" batteries, but they have got me out of a fix a few times.
I doubt it would be worthwhile now, given the electrics and aircon of the cav. Mantas were basic!

Yup. £1,57.9
Re: Toyota Yaris 1.3 CDX (2002).
That's a good price for E5. Up here in the wilds of Cumbria the cheapest E5 that I can find is £1.76 and at a lot of places it's £1.80 or more.

It's all fun and games, it's only cos its on my way to work that it gets used.
Any savings is good, and the hotdogs make a decent tea time snack too

Re: Toyota Yaris 1.3 CDX (2002).
So, today saw me pulling the doorcard off to reposition the door glass in the drivers door.
New regulator needed as it has buckled, twisted and almost folded in half on one of the arms.
£35 for a new regulator, motor will need to be swapped over, but not taking a chance on 20year old item that looks like it is made of toffee and could be as worn as mine was.
Need to sort out the window channels too.

At least £35 isn't too expensive. Always find window motors a bit baffling to fit.Envoy CDX wrote: ↑Mon Jan 02, 2023 7:43 pm So, today saw me pulling the doorcard off to reposition the door glass in the drivers door.

Not too bad, just could do without the task. I'm not looking forward to it, I have 8 fingers and 2 thumbs to date.. will report back once fitted. Though typing maybe a little slower
Re: Toyota Yaris 1.3 CDX (2002).
So how far have you got with this...?
With all these replacement parts, there will be hardly anything left from the car's earlier life in the north west.
All good progress though...
Okay time for an audit of limbs (digits)
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 fingers and
1, 2 thumbs.
All present and accounted for - plus a few battle scars and cuts - lol

Can't be helped, I should have addressed this window ages ago, before this happened.
Still waiting on the new regulator being delivered. Getting a little annoyed too as it was ordered the day it happened.

Re: Toyota Yaris 1.3 CDX (2002).
New regulator arrived hoping my bodge will hold out till February. Simply don't have time (or energy) to faff about with it. That and it's damn cold outside to be messing with steel bits.
Re: Toyota Yaris 1.3 CDX (2002).
February is only just over a week away, so not too long.
I was amazed at how mild it was yesterday.
But I don't think that I would have made the effort to go out to the car yesterday if I hadn't had to go out anyway.
I need to move somewhere warmer.... like southern France, lol.

Aye, got a week of on-call coming up so tend to do absolutely when on-call given my typical luck with things.
Far far too many things I need to get ontop of.

Re: Toyota Yaris 1.3 CDX (2002).
So, its been a couple of months.
Regulator was wrong, so sent that back, still need to go hunting for another one.
Finally replaced the rear wiper (snapped the other one whist taking it off, so had to resort to the hack saw).
Long over-due a service (3 years apparently :/) and a good wash.
I really am not doing too good with my duties of late, add to that a fractured rear spring and the impending MOT.
It'll fix though, always does.

Re: Toyota Yaris 1.3 CDX (2002).
It always gets done for the MOT.
If you are like me...
It usually takes the total failure of a part, or impending MOT to force me to get off my backside and give the car some TLC.
Then I spend the rest of the month on bread and water after paying for parts and the MOT.

Aye, I can be. And sometimes I just do cos I feel it needs to be done. It's all a bit odd.
Still, it'll fix

Re: Toyota Yaris 1.3 CDX (2002).
Drivers window motor has now been replaced, no pictures taken really.
Re: Toyota Yaris 1.3 CDX (2002).
Just in time to roll the windows down for the summer.
Only another thousand jobs to go... as you do.
Was it just the motor, or the whole regulator assembly?
I thought the regulator was made of crappy thin steel that was now fubar'd.
Any special plans for the old girl's 21st birthday next month?

Re: Toyota Yaris 1.3 CDX (2002).
Whole regulator was bent, pretty poor pressed tin attempt at a regulator really.
Needs a new rear spring, for MOT, hand brake needs adjusting too.
On the list of things to replace: discs, pads and tyres are starting to get low. rear shoes possibly too.
MOT, depending on the cost, we'll see what parts cannon I use.
