Lowrider Garage - Sabine's new coat

Post by Lowrider Dave »

Famous people visit me all the time. Fellow members of the 'Bangerati' (Banger rallier/glitterati) dropped by and left me with their motor - Sabine - for a repaint ready for their banger rally to the arctic in December!

10 years a rally machine and still going...

I presume so -

Otherwise the 'rusty rek" sticker on the front screen would be lying.

Hmmm - Ford mondeo with a Cavalier engine?
Only way I could see it surviving 10 rallies - ha ha.

LOL. Unicorn piss.

Rusty bonnet stays, the rest gets sprayed.

Good reminder - I have a few more photos to add, I have yet to paint the bonnet.

Finally finished, including hand-painted bonnet design.

Thanks very much. Not my best work but in my defence the car has been on 8 rallies and has several coats of paint on before I sprayed it - so it was a bit of bumpy surface!

Well it is a banger, it's not meant to be perfect.

Did you design the paint scheme yourself?

Yes I did. Had a rough idea of what I wanted to do and just went for it freehand.
