My other car, #1, CV8 Monaro
My other car, #1, CV8 Monaro
Had this a few months now, it replaced a Jag MK2 I bought locally which needed finishing off. Made some surprise money on that in 18 months, so waited almost 9 hours after selling the Jag before trawling the UK classifieds for a Monaro, as I had a V8 itch that definitley needed extensively scratching.
Low mileage, full history, really quite rare, one of 62, in the only colour I wanted, big boot model, lower tax band, no rear spoiler, early model comparably crap tiny brakes (didn't last long!), no modifications (that didn't last long did it!), just the Holden badges, also got the crappy dealer service too! They haven't a clue about these cars.
5.7 Corvette LS1 old school single cam V8, 6 speed manual, LSD, all the toys, just awesome to drive and makes the perfect mild V8 rumble.
Sorted all the well publicized usual sillies with it straight away, as I had researched these for quite a while, mostly clutch fluid and gearbox oil related.
Now it's got the brakes it deserves and is just perfect. Full monty AP racing GTS f/r giant kit -
Even fitted a Citroen pollen filter to it, as would you believe Holden dont fit one as std, even though they are built in Australia with all their dusty roads, but there's a hole for one that I measured and found one that fitted -
That's it really.
It doesn't do galactic miles like the Cav and just as well really as 26mpg has been its best run, 18 is it's worst so far where the cav gets 39 average, but when one boots it, it can register 2.8mpg!
Have another car too, sorned in the warm..

2.8 mpg.. ok not the most economical, but to hell with that when you open the taps on a Corvette block

There are similarities in the body shape, surely you can see that? If I had posted a picture of a blue micra then I would understand your commentCavalier342 wrote:Mate, you couldn't be more wrong Why even bother wasting time to paste a pic of a french car onto Pete's Monaro post???

I too see the similarities but the Monaro is slightly longer and sleeker.
Nice ride and a cool shade of Blue, definately time to pop on the shades and go for a cruise!

Free Parking is a bonus, leaving my Cav in a carbon dust filled carpark is not.....
